The Orr/Brown partnership now worth 79. Can they reach 100 or will this be a typical goatmouth? Sussex: 141-4 (152 ahead with 4 wickets remaining)Also, will Brown make a daring declaration after lunch or allow the game to become a predictable draw and nab 8 points? Edit: Well I never, 100 partnership and then out. Sussex: 165-5 (lead of 176)

Will definitely have to bat after lunch.Hopefully we can get up to a 250 lead by 2:30 and then try to bowl out Glamorgan. If we bat on for too long without any intent, it would be depressingly disappointing. Come on Sussex!!

All four results possible at this stage. Whether that will quickly whittle down to one likely result as the afternoon progresses, we will find out a couple hours from now.

Ben Brown playing his way into the wicket keeper/open bat role in the T20 on Friday after hitting a couple of sixes of van Gugten. Can we win this one? It would be a great result if we can. Draw favourite, IMHO.

Left it too late for Glamorgan to have a proper go at winning this, they’ve got a lot more to lose than us. Selfish from Brown using up overs to get to his 100.
Got bore draw written all over it.

Ridiculously selfish from Brown should have declared setting Glamorgan 200 from 60

As predicted it’s a draw and Sussex finish in the 3rd division.

And a rain affected game comes to a close in sunshine... Cricket really doesn't help itself sometimes

Sussex have some work to do over the winter.
1. Improve the drainage in the outfield or employ a better head groundsman. 2. Recruit 2 new overseas batters for the CC. 3. Get rid of any hangers-on. e.g Beer,Thomason, Rawlins etc

Get rid of any hangers-on. e.g Beer,Thomason, Rawlins etc Agree with all three. Drainage needs improving. Is the Head Groundsman to blame? He worked for 10 years under Mackay and so should know what he is doing. We have got absolutely nothing out of our four overseas players this season. At 24 Thomason and Rawlins are not showing enough potential to warrant another contract. The emergence of Carson and Lenham has put pay to Beer's Sussex career.

Disappointing. Brown should have declared much earlier. We had nothing to lose, as only a win would have given us a glimmer of hope in tier 2. As well as Orr and Brown batted, there was not enough urgency in the session before lunch. Ibrahim threw his wicket away in the cause after lunch. I didn't see Beer bother. Sorry but Beer's time is up. The captaincy is tricky. Brown does look after the new young lads but should he also be captain? Shame Garton not around, he would make a good captain. The upside is we have a lot of good young potential. Van Zyll and Head, in particular, have not done enough. Overseas recruitment is problematic.

Ridiculously selfish from Brown should have declared setting Glamorgan 200 from 60 Dunno about that. May as well have done something similar though but you're on a hiding to nothing even with 60 overs left. Should have batted quicker in the morning if anything. Thank god for the kids and what of these OS players? Looks like I was right all along - give youth a chance, as Lennon or some hippy once said. Anywho, I always wondered if there was a God, and now I know there is - me. So watch it.
