And so we roll on to the sixth of eight games in this year's Royal London One Day Cup. Qualification for the latter stages may have gone, but Sussex will still be hoping to record their first win in the competition after suffering a narrow defeat in their last game to Gloucestershire. The visit to Worcester will not be an easy one as Worcestershire are currently in third place, which would be good enough to qualify for the knockout stages.
After winning their first three games, Worcestershire have slipped to defeats at the hands of Hampshire and Middlesex. Jack Haynes and Brett D'Oliveira have scored well, but most batsmen have contributed to Worcestershire's totals. Taking wickets has been more problematic for Worcestershire with only one outstanding bowling performance when they dismissed Essex for 156.
A win would be welcome, particularly after losing two of three defeats so narrowly. Can Sussex do it? Possibly.
League Tables (before Thursday's games)
Essex P5 8 Pts Lancashire P5 7 Pts Worcestershire P5 6 Pts Durham P4 5 Pts Hampshire P5 5 Pts Middlesex P5 5 Pts Gloucestershire P5 4 Pts Sussex P5 2 Pts Kent P5 2 Pts

Hunt and Carson return to the squad but no Wiese.
The forecast is not favourable.

Great work in the middle from the spinners, but feel we’ve let them get a few too many there. 45 off the last 5, and 39 for the last wicket.

Spot on Ashington at 137 for 7 we should have restricted them to around 180.
I appreciate it is a used wicket and offering greater assistance to the spinners, but our bowling attack has looked two dimensional in the Competition. Very strong in the spinning department, not so much in the seam.
It is a shame Atkins has been out injured and now that Hunt is fit, surprised he didn't get a go today. Crocombe and Sarro are no doubt great prospects, but for me don't at present look as ready as the other two. Time will no doubt tell, but even with their inexperience would have hoped they would have given their tail a bit more of a challenge today.
Over to the batters, where hopefully Haines will not be involved in another run out and Head will finally produce that match winning innings.
Surprised Worcestershire have done as well as they have so far in the Competition, they don't appear to be that strong a side.

Nobody's that strong a side in this comp Dev, all the best players are elsewhere. Who has the best cubs though? We have many good ones as far as I can see.
Walk in the park this one - six, seven wicket win. Orr looking top notch.

Top ton. Been watching this since he had 20 and it's been faultless. One slightly bizarre shot on 90 nearly got him out but otherwise, reverse sweeps, pulls for 6 (one on 96), dancing down the wicket to the spinner and slotting him straight back over his head for six. Clean as a whistle.
Having watched Carter's knock the other day too, these two in particular look high quality to my eye. And the other one frankly.

Great performance from Coles, Lenham and Orr. Agreed. Management deserve some credit. It would have been easy to drop Orr for this game. Thank goodness that didn't happen. Well done to Head for seeing us home. Still lots to learn by the young seamers and batsmen; however a fantastic result for the team. Let's beat Essex and Middlesex.

Great result. When this team improves by a few runs and the odd wicket, which it will, it will be a more than decent team. Most of today’s team hadn’t been heard of a year or so ago. I’m optimistic.

Good grief we’ve actually won a game! We've been competitive in all but one and should have won three by now. Everyone is in the same boat in this comp, we're not the only one playing kids. We'll be better still if Hunt and Atkins come in, maybe Carson too for a tilt. I'm getting on board with this and the Hundred playing alongside each other. It forces counties to play their young talent and for too long counties, and especially us, have preferred to sign has-beens, journeymen or ordinary Kolpaks, hindering the progress of quality young homies, homie. Plus, the Hundred rocks man. My team, the Barstardos, are in action tonight actually. We got the Flannels and we're gonna wipe the *** floor with them.
