Cannot have three overseas players. Keep forgetting Wiese is now an overseas! I’d have Carter in for Head otherwise it leaves us a batter short. Head has gone home anyway I think, and wasn’t in the squad.

Runs per over Spin 6.6 Seam 9.8
Why didn't we bowl 12 overs of spin?
I bet they wish they had picked Dom Bess instead of Matthew Waite.

There’s not much scope for things to go wrong given our batting lineup and the target Yorkshire have set. 100 for 1 at a decent rate or it’s going to be tough.

We are a batter short, Carter should be in for one of three leggies. He's also a proper keeper, unlike Salt from what I saw in the Hundred. It's very strange to me that you want 7/8 bowling options when four of them are four of the best in the world. Our strength is our attack and we've strengthened it. Our batting is our weakness and we've weakened it. We have zero form there too. 100% correct Liquid. You don't need three leggies. That side has nine bowling options. We replace our overseas batter Head with an overseas bowler Rashid Khan. Carter should have played. You are never going to have 12 overs of leg spin. Previous matches this year have shown, Wright isn't at his best when he is given too many bowling options. If the batting misfires, the spotlight will be on Salisbury and Kirtley. Furthermore we have been over reliant on Salt and Wright this year and they have Willey and Rashid. Our three pacemen were very disappointing this evening. I am hoping that is a consequence of the small boundaries although there were some very indifferent deliveries. Gawling that Kohler-Cadmore went on to score 55 when he was actually out on 1.

With the greatest of respect the middle order has to turn up at some point in the competition. They cannot rely on Salt and Wright to do all of the work all of the time.

You're right, the middle order owe us runs. It's a shame they're all bowlers. It's a lot of debating for what is effectively one player. We're light in the batting CP and heavy in the bowling, it's plain to see. It's by one player, that player is Carter, who is also a better keeper than Salt. When has Carter even played a first team T20? Luckily Salt and Wright are both firing.

Next season replace Khan and Wiese with two middle order batsmen.

Carter would have been of no use coming in with 43 needed off 21 balls! Rashid Khan is of more use to Sussex with the bat than the ball. Never in doubt.

Illogical, we are a batter light and who it is isn't the issue. Bring on Edgbaston, when is it, November? Given the domestic players we have I don't think we need an overseas spinner. It is two overseas middle order batsmen we desperately need! If Wright and Salt fail we're screwed and Carter or Ward isn't going to change this. An attack of Garton, Jordan, Mills, Beer and Lenham can beat most teams. The batting on the other hand is strong up top with Salt and Wright and has Bopara and Rawlins at 5 and 6 but could do with an injection of overseas quality at 3 and 4.
