An excellent overseas signing for the first part of the year announced.
Although there seems to have been absolutely no luck with our overseas picks for next year as the Pakistan West Indies ODI series has now been postponed until June 2022 - meaning we probably won't see Rizwan playing much of the T20 at all

Why is nobody talking about Rizwan? You know, welcome, all that stuff.
Do our, god forbid, think Carter ain't ready yet or will they both play, I wonder? I thought Carter was ace on the numerous wonky live streams that I caught him on so I'm not so impressed by this. Unless Riz is just gonna bat.

God forbid, leaders, that's supposed to be.
If only there was an edit button.

A fantastic signing, an upgrade on Salt but how often will we see him?

A poor signing in the CC. Yet another example of our leaders targeting areas that don't need filling. He's a six, we don't need a six, we need a three, given that we've just let a great one leave. If he only bats, and at five, with Carter at six, so be it. Then we need a domestic 3 though. Not happening. It's no slight on Rizwan, he is a good player, but yet again not what we need. We see this time and time again at Sussex with OS signings. What are these idiots looking at?
Too many morons like the Gopher in the office.

Disagree with this liquid old boy, the fella averages 43 in test cricket and plenty in first class cricket not sure we could get anyone better. Head 4 and Rizwan 5 and a sacrificial lamb at 3 Only way we could solve our number 3 spot would be domestically and no one wants to come to the worst county in the country! I’d personally bat Ibrahim at 3

Like him at 3-5 Lurvly Boy, only got an issue if he takes Carter's place and the gloves. Carter is 20 now, was one of the few players to show some grit in the CC and looks a natural behind the stumps for me. My stance has always been the same with OS or outsiders. They're welcome, but not if it hinders a yoot's progress. Sign players in the position you need them, pretty obvious really. I suspect both can play at once given our squad. Big loss at three though. Why not play Rizwan there if he's so good? He opens in one-dayers I think. Then we can have Head 4, yoot 5, Carter 6 H-P 7.
I think we should sign Ballance and play him at three. Send him to a good boy class or two, tell him not to write or say anything controversial ten years ago. Tell him, no bants. That word is obsolete in the Woke Kingdom. The UK better lose that Kingdom word actually, stinks of imperialism. And the Great in Britain, that's gotta go.

This is a top signing - however this only papers over a Brown shaped crack. We need 2/3 domestic reinforcements who will be around long term.
But who would want to come to Sussex with Andrew/Greenfield in charge!!

He said domestic cricketers Gordon, in what is a very valid and concerning point. If you've come back on just to blindly defend your bosses with blatant ignorance again then I'm just gonna have to hound you off, again.
Come back with real answers or not at all.

Therealab - not even yourself can put up any defense, our domestic signings have been AWFUL under this regime.
I’m hopeful Finn can be a very good addition but we need more urgently.
Overseas signings have in general been good, unlucky with availability but t20 focused until the signing of Head/Rizwan

Overseas signings have in general been good, unlucky with availability but t20 focused until the signing of Head/Rizwan Sorry, I'm a little confused. We've made a huge focus on developing youngsters in and around some experienced players. Van Zyl and Head sadly didnt perform last season, Salt and CJ didnt want to play red ball, we lost Jofra and Robbo to injuries and England as well. Rob Andrew has addressed this and identified that we need to sign more senior players and seeing Brown go was a huge blow but if he doesnt want to play for Sussex then I wouldnt want to contribute to his wages (only my opinion). I was then encouraged to see Rizwan signed to go alongside Head and Finn. I'd be surprised if 1 or 2 more werent added before the season starts. I cant help but think people want to see us fail so they can say they were right about the Coaches. I'll cheer them on from the stands in what i anticipate to be a successful season.

I don't think that's right, Gordy. People don't want that and they don't really refer to the coaches, rather the direction from the top - or the office across the hall.
I think we've made some good signings too, to go with the youth. But losing Brown's a big hit. We did have and should still have a very promising top five. Top eight actually with Carter, H-P and Garton. It's took a big hit, and I'd be very surprised if we find a suitable domestic replacement. If it's a yoot, it's a yoot that hasn't warranted it yet through the twos. I think we should sign Ballance if Yorks don't want him. I don't know if they don't want him though.
I just hope Riz doesn't displace Carter. Carter is the future, and should bat at six regardless but I hope he keeps too. Riz can just bat.
I'm optimistic for our 4 day hopes actually. Less so for the 4 day game on the whole though.

Oh give over, that's exactly what they want members/supporters to think, just lap up their (non) reasons for haemorrhaging all our best and senior players and thinking we can be successful with 9 kids in the team. Finn has only played 2 first class games in 2 years, there'll be a reason why he was available. Surely even you can't still be defending them over the latest departure, whole thing was appallingly managed, and, we were twice told that Brown would be staying. But seemingly you'll defend them over anything. No, it's not about being right about the coaches, it's about the management of the club, though saying that, Salisbury's display at the last forum wasn't great, seemed to be in some dreamland about how we performed last season and was disparaging of our championship winning sides, so either you're completely misreading the situation, or you're just on the wind-up again. Successful? What would that constitute - 2 victories in championship cricket?
