Dear Mr. Umpire - the Sussex From the Sea End Forum were eagerly awaiting Cheteshwar and his chase of the elusive 1000 runs before the end May, he had moved serenely to 3 (taking his season total to 720) before you decided to stick your oar in with an absolute howler! hit above the knee roll. wouldn't have hit a second set, you are missing a good game sir.... and any other sledge I can think of. Our big game players are leaving some work for the kids to do. Anyone got some imodium for Ollie?

The kids are doing OK so far. A second 100 for young Clark and a decent 72 from Carter have put us 61 in front at tea.

Now that's a scorecard - Clark, Carter, Haines, young Archibald. Superb.
Both Carter and Clark are class, although today I've only seen their packages but I'm very impressed. Clark and Haines proving that a game or two at 20 isn't enough to judge and discard. Invite Sarro back Sussex, you saw the mistake with H-P.
Hopefully Robinson is over his Harlems, if he is, we win easy.

Archie Lenham - Outstanding spell of bowling.
Hopefully, this will give Haines the confidence to throw him the ball earlier and more frequently in future and surely he has to continue after Tea.
The irony is if Crane hadn't gone back to Hants, would Archie have even been selected for this match?
Perhaps, I am being unfair on Crane and I accept it is a different wicket and a different match situation, but Archie looked more threatening in just his first over let alone the two that followed than Crane did in the past two matches.
Hoping for a fifer for Archie and this to be wrapped up tonight.

Oh and despite the scrutiny by the commentators around Hill's LBW that looked as out as it could be to me.
I particularly liked the nature of Carter's appeal, who if the Umpire had got any doubt was sufficient to convince him that he was mistaken.

We are making really hard work of knocking over the late middle order and Leicestershire tail this morning.
Lenham has looked by far the biggest threat, so I am really struggling to understand why he hasn't been used more. I would have expected him to have bowled pretty much unchanged from one end other than perhaps a short break when the new ball became available.
We need to get smarter in game situations such as these where we are on top, but can't seem to figure out how to press home the advantage. The better sides in the Division, such as Notts always seem to find a way.
It would be good if we can get at least another wicket before lunch.
