Sussex and New Zealand have turned a serious fixture into a complete and utter joke of a cricket match. Are Sussex actually going to try and win a cricket match this season? Increasingly Sussex's approach to first eleven cricket is akin that of a amateur or club side as the professionalism, winning attitude and approach of the club has completely disappeared under Rob Andrew, Keith Greenfield and Ian Salisbury. That is why we are miles adrift at the bottom of division two with Leicestershire. This would not have been allowed to happen under Mark Robinson or Peter Moores. |

Unremarkable first day. Not really sure who's come out on top here. Should be clearer when it's done and we can move on to real cricket - or the T20 at least.

Looking at the Kiwi side it is hardly their first choice line up with no Conway, Williamson, Nicholls, Mitchell, Southee, Wagner or Boult.
