The only way for the Surrey fans to get down is by train. You can’t park in Hove!!

Around 70% full. Usually a full house, but various extraneous reasons for this from the rail strike and petrol costs to Sussex languishing in the table.
Lucky to hit 150 at this rate. Rizwan so unlucky.

From 92-1 to 112-5.
An oh so familiar story.
The wheels started to come off in the eleventh over and never looked like getting back on.
Surrey not even at full strength.
27 runs between overs 10 and 16.

Rizwan not unlucky. If he had run the 3rd Orr wouldn't have been out. Rizwan set off on a silly run and got sent back. Great fielding by Jordan. Rizwan batted well but cost Sussex 2 wickets, Orr and his own.

Great partnership from Delray and George at end. At least a competitive score against a weakened Surrey.

Rizwan slipped and Jordan hit the stumps from afar when eight times out of ten he would have missed.
I call that unlucky.

Thought we were heading for another embarrassing collapse but a 60 partnership from Delray and Garton have spared our blushes.
Surrey need 173 to win.

Outstanding from Rawlins and Garton who repair the damage.
Rawlins has been the victim (no apology for using that description) on this forum of some unfair, scathing and I would go as far as saying cruel comments during the season that go well beyond constructive criticism or frustration at his rush of blood to the head moments.
Yet in he last four or five games (red and white ball), he has been one of the very few stand out performers and demonstrated that talent he clearly possesses.
Indeed, in terms of T20, he has been one of our better performers in a very disappointing tournament.
Perhaps those detractors not only reflect on past comments, but remember these performances for future reference.
Back to the match, at least we have a game, although I fear we may be 15 to 20 runs light. We shall see, but either way Mills and Finn need to bowl a lot better tonight than in recent matches.

More rubbish thinking. Garton hasn't bowled for some time;so he bowls first over. And then bowls rubbish. What has been wrong with Delray bowling an over upfront.
Well batted Delray.

You are reading my mind Sponge. In most matches this season, Delray has opened the bowling. Now we have Rashid Khan bowling in the powerplay. Add eight to Rawlin's score for the two boundaries he has saved off Rashid's bowling.

Walk in the park on Hove flatty. Lost too much momentum with Bopara & Alsop. A good recovery indeed, Rawlins where he should be and we now have a powerful middle/lower. Orr's a player, mark my words, he'll be in the Hundred. Hope we stick with Ward up top but I'm not convinced on him.
Blast from the past officiating, Mark Newell, former Sussex bat. Ash will probably tell you he was a number 3 but he was definitely a number 4.

A classic goat-face Fraudster, well done. It's good to beat these boys tonight, Steve's been strutting around here like he owns the place. Although he did call it.
Rawlins is becoming a bit of a player. A multi 3 way player. Or whatever it's called.

Well well well!
Pulled off an unlikely win when it’s too late but great to see non the less.
Fair play to Rawlins, man of the match for me tonight.

Unbelievable!! We looked absolutely out of that.
At the three-quarter stage, we had been outplayed in every department. It looked a match between an unbeaten team high on confidence playing a team who had forgotten how to win completely devoid of confidence.
Reminiscent of the debacle against Gloucestershire where we should have strolled it and completely capitulated. Only this time, the shoe was on the other foot.
Can't help feeling Surrey lost it rather than Sussex won it, but who cares? Absolutely delighted, always good to beat Surrey.
Delray man of the match for me.
