Ho hum, will it be another drubbing from the undefeated and already qualified Surrey? Or will we finally get things together when it’s too late?
The team is anyones guess, so is the weather.

Squad usually announced by now. Now is the time for change with selection, batting order and bowler management. Doesn't matter if we lose; younger players need to play to learn from the experience.

Will Beer comes in for Luke Wright who has a foot injury. Otherwise unchanged.

Squad announced. Beer in. Pathetic. Seems like Kirtley doesn't want to or not brave enough to engage in the new future yet.

Mills, Finn and Khan to miss out. What are the chances of that? Wright has had a foot injury all tournament. Shouldn't have played a game. He has deprived someone else of match time experience.

I suspect Joe, whilst there is still a mathematical chance of qualifying they will try and patch Wright up and include him with his continued absence for large parts when we are in the field. I believe he has a year left on his contract, but wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if he has played his last match for Sussex. We shall just have to wait and see, but with his studying over the last close season and his upcoming coaching duties with New Zealand it all points to a retirement over the winter.

He's just tweeted this morning that he’ll be going to NZ to coach Auckland but that he’ll be back for his final year with Sussex next year before emigrating permanently. He’s not in the squad for today.

Disappointed with Wright. His foot injury sounds a little suspect to me. Of course, his wife and her family hail from NZ so that makes sense. Yet has Luke sold his house in Newick? Taken him ages with that housing estate potentially being built next door.
I would be really surprised to see him back at Hove next season. I hope his future career is a great success in NZ. He is the last of the recent Club stalwarts. I will miss him.

Why on earth have Sussex published an interview with Ravi Bopara on their website? Pretty embarrassing! The writing isn't joined up!

I hope Garton can bowl and hasn’t been brought back too soon.

We have a weak batting line up with our top boys away with England. Sussex to win.

Why on earth have Sussex published an interview with Ravi Bopara on their website? Pretty embarrassing! The writing isn't joined up! Astonishing. I think they put stuff like that up to take the piss. Isn't Greenfield's lovechild Gordy in charge of the website? Old Bo-pop's crystal ball needs a good wipe anyway. Have to agree with Steve, we do have a better looking side than the posh chavs tonight.

Watching on the stream, there appear to be quite a lot of empty seats. Can anyone at the ground confirm?
Pretty embarrassing for a Sussex v Surrey fixture. If it is as it appears, can't believe it is predominantly a consequence of the rail strike.
