Joe, in a way we were both right. I consider Clarke, Ward and Lenham quite lucky to retain their places. Interesting decision to bowl first. Let's hope we can get some early wickets. Good Morning Sponge. You are clearly a hard taskmaster. I must admit I would have preferred Carter to Ward from match one but given Harrison made 37 in an opening partnership of 58 at over a run a ball on Friday, it would be a big call to leave him out today. Yes, he should have gone on to get more, hopefully he will have learnt from the experience. Clark, poor shot selection first game, unlucky to get out to a stunning catch second match, particularly given some of the more straightforward ones Gloucestershire put down. I thought Lenham did well on Friday. Yes went for few, but got a couple of important wickets late on. Yet again felt he got thrown under the bus. Brought back in the 35th over and asked to do a job when there were better bowling options available and Gohar was looking dangerous. Correct decision to replace Hunt, who I felt hasn't been at his best in the first two games. Only given 5 overs against Gloucestershire. I suppose the bigger question is who would you bring in to replace them as options are limited. If we are going with two spinners, which makes sense, not sure Cole would offer more than Lenham, although possibly would strengthen the batting. Hudson-Prentice who can only play as a batter for Clark possibly. Yet again for the third match running three early wickets. Karvelas impressive again as is Currie, who should have played ahead of Hunt in the last match. Update, now four down. Let us hope for once we can press home the advantage. Skittle them for around 175. I can't keep up, five wickets!! Just need Mulder now.

I find Ward very frustrating as a batter; and i really don't like these white ball only contracts. If he is good enough give home a red ball contract. Agreed, the catch to get Clarke was decent. Lenham did ok. No more than that. As I have said before the Sussex management have totally mismanaged the spinner situation. Heads should roll. Just feel a bit for the yellow top water carriers. Need to be given opportunities in this format. Now 46 for 7.

Well, I don't think any of us expected that!! Outstanding!!
Yes, I get where you are coming from with the white ball contracts Sponge. Hopefully, they are coming to an end. Beer gone, Bopara's contract up, I don't expect to see Wright next year and Mills I believe has a year left.
Liquid and I debated Ward during the T20, I thought he did OK with some useful knocks, but where he will end up long term is anyone's guess. Has had some good performances in T10 franchises I believe, but will need to do a lot more and soon if that is the direction he sees his career going.
Still feel he is being selected ahead of Carter to justify the decision to give him the white ball contract. Let's see how he goes today.

White ball only contracts are a feature of modern cricket and they are very unlikely to go away.

3 wins from the last 5 should see us go close for the quarters.
It's good to see this group of talented youngsters beginning to show their talent more consistently. With a couple more experienced heads in the ranks we could have a bright few years ahead.

Pinching myself over this one. Fancied us for a win today but not one as easy as this! Should do wonders for the team’s collective confidence.

Another cracking little overseas player Grubby has found us. Shame the dumb-ass barely knew he existed when we needed him. Let's be honest, he wasn't an OS player for the first couple of games, nor for the 2s when we badly needed one in the firsts. They called him one when he done pretty well after they threw the dice in desperation off the back of some pretty ordinary 2s games. Typical of these clueless idiots running the show & stumbling across good fortune, then trying to mask it as a shrewd move. You fool nobody on here Gordy. Let's not go overboard. Great performance but Leics have very little. Easy as she comes, as the French say.

An unchanged squad announced for tomorrow’s game away at Warwickshire.
It’s going to be a scorcher so would hope to win the toss and bat first.

Nah bowl. Don't wanna be in that heat at 3, wanna be looking for some morning juice before big Bertie comes out.
Big game this, should sort out the half empties from the half fulls.
