So we’ve lost the toss and bowl first.
Unchanged team.

Warwickshire 80 for 1 off 17. Ward just bowled an over. This is going to be a hard day of cricket.

Poor Ward. 3 overs of filth. Beginning to wonder if Pujara knows what he is doing as captain. Strange cricket.

Spinners thrown under the bus Joe. Sussex management have allowed this to happen. Delray doing his best. Lenham's bowling seems to have gone backwards. Harder bowling leg spin in red and 50 over white ball.Beer must be wondering what he did wrong. There are better spin bowlers in the Sussex Prem than Ward.

Looks a good track, going to be hard work keeping the score down whoever bowls, but Ward should never be an option.
Doesn't help when the decisions don't go for you. Rawlins very first ball to Yates looked as plumb an LBW as you will ever see.
The two Warwicks commentators having difficulty distinguishing between 33, Hudson-Prentice who took the catch to dismiss Rhodes and 35, Harrison Ward.
Another decent spell from Delray.

This track looks pretty flat - We will be chasing 300+ - Pujara to anchor and let everyone else blast around him with the hope that 2 of the top 7 come off!

What on earth is Pujara doing, bowling out Lenham. Poor poor captaincy;and not fair to Lenham. Pujara great bat and speaks well. Doess he have any captaincy credentials?

I would tend to agree that Lenham hasn't been quite as effective this season Sponge, but is that partly due to second season syndrome and teams being wiser to him? I would also say, particularly in the 50 over competition he has been given some tough overs to bowl. Against Gloucestershire he came on at a difficult point in the game and took a couple of important wickets at the death. Again today, he is being tasked with death overs. That is a big ask of an 18 year old bowler at the start of his career, let alone a leg spinner. In fairness, he as done pretty well and got some turn from the pitch. Ibrahim, only one over? Have I missed something?

Devon, you didn't miss anything on Ibrahim - his over went for 11 I wasn't sure if he got injured Sussex. Given Ward had three overs, Ibrahim is at least a recognised bowler and we are now struggling to work out who will bowl the final overs would have expected him to have had at least a couple more. Currie puts in another good shift. Have we seen enough to get him on the payroll permanently? Certainly improves what has been an under par bowling unit this season.

Can’t have been easy out there today in the intense heat but Lenham was struggling and was given 9 overs, Karvelas only 8. Bad captaincy in my opinion.
310 to win.
