As there’s a lot of chat around this at the moment I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread.

There's a poorly named 'Strauss' thread on this topic.
It should be tough titty for people like Filby & the smaller counties. How did we survive when there was zero T20 home games to rip people off with? Somebody needs to just come along & say this is what's happening, deal with it. There's too much cricket across too many formats, that has to change & nothing will be perfect.
Didn't we have 6 side divs a couple of years ago then they binned it? Strauss is about there but it needs fine tuning. I can't fathom for the life of me why if it's voted through in November it would then take until 2024 to implement. Do it straight away morons, why does it take so long? These people are fat lazy office wallows is what I think. I'm very cross tonight.

I can see counties opposing the cut to T20 and championship games. What is August festival about? Where does an elite 6 team county championship leave the other twelve counties? It would leave Sussex playing Derbyshire, Durham, Glamorgan, Leicestershire and Worcestershire in the county championship. Presumably in the T20 Sussex would play Essex, Hampshire, Kent, Middlesex and Surrey. Somerset playing Glamorgan, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Northants. Derbyshire playing Leicestershire, Notts, Lancashire, Yorkshire and Durham.
Liquidskin - probably because teams have been playing for promotion and relegation this year and you cannot change that. Therefore 2024 is the earliest if could be implemented.

What will they be playing for next year then? Gotta change it at some point, just do it.
All that stuff you said is pretty much already happening ain't it? We're playing all those teams now.

The point is that you shoud know what you are paying for at the start of the season which means any change cannot happen before 2024.

I have never considered discontinuing my membership but five CC makes it fairly unattractive to me. I also buy the T20 Blast ticket so that I can go if I fancy it. I doubt I would bother with Blast membership without the CC membership. Am I alone in this thinking?

They have to reduce the price of the membership accordingly don't they Phil. With counties subsidised by the ECB (Hundred).
Sharkey please, will you stop making me look stupid? I have a hard enough time looking stupid at home. Interested to see how they set it up though. Top 6, middle 6, bottom 6 & off you go? Isn't there a north/south thing?

Sussex CCC has offered me the chance to buy a 5 or 10 year ticket. In 10 years, we can expect to have the Hundred in August, the Fifty in July and the four team County Championship in the other months. Sussex will be facing the Channel Islands and Scilly Isles in a feeder group for a feeder group for a feeder group for the 4-team CC. Entry to the elite 4-team group will be by beating the bottom side ten consecutive times. Still, we can all enjoy the festivals.

Sussex's timing is awful, who in their right mind will buy 5 or 10 year tickets? Another example of brainless Sussex management.

The team have just suffered one of their bigger defeats of an another very unsuccessful CC year, no one seems to know who is in charge of the recently erratic team selection, and someone in management chooses this precise moment to invite us all to sign up for 2023 (and beyond). Let us hope that the chairman can do what needs to be done following the end of this season of massive under-achievement, and let us hope that he, along with the majority of the other county chairmen, can keep the ECB marketing geniuses from further wrecking our great game.

How much have they paid an advertising agency for the strap line “marching to our future”?
Sussex are becoming a laughing stock and I would laugh if it wasn’t all so bloody sad.

These people are either utterly stupid or they simply couldn't give a s**t. I think it's both. The stuff on the website all year has been embarrassing. Those weekly interviews about 3 months late & stuff. Frigging idiots. We need a total clear out, top to bottom.

Do we feel it’s independent thinking if an employee of both Sky and the ECB has been charged with putting together this high performance review ?
And I have it on the very best authority that said person is boasting that a private equity fund now involved with the Hundred has valued the hair brained crap at £450m……
