No it’s not independent at all.

The Sky guy just wants one of the Hundred or the Blast in the summer holidays. I couldn't care less about any of the other stuff. Not an iota. Even he probably thinks that two is overkill though.

He couldn't care less I mean. I'm scared to edit now in case someone gets me.

No reduction to the county championship. Spread across the entire season. Two in April (start mid-Apri); two in May, two in June, three in July, three in August and two in September (finish mid-September) with the games on Sunday to Wednesday. Put the T20 games on Friday evening in May to July. Put the fifty over games in August.

Morning everyone Mike Atherton in The Times today is talking about US. "County diehards" who deserve to have their voices heard. He details how many of the counties have called special meetings to allow their members to vote on the Strauss review and quotes extensively from a Lancs member who is leading the charge. The overall thrust of the report is county members feeling it's time to take a stand against further erosion of the Championship and the counties' Blast schedule. Jon Filby has said he is against a vote by members, but promises to take a hard line with the ECB board. As you will read, many of the leading counties are going further and allowing their membership to have a vote. Are Sussex members concerned enough to want to take a stand? www.thetimes.co.uk/article/downtrodden-county-diehards-deserve-to-have-their-voices-heard-5fnxhr20h

I'm concerned enough to think that county members & chairman like Filby are stupid & selfish. They can't see past their stupid fat long noses. Idiots.

Do we feel it’s independent thinking if an employee of both Sky and the ECB has been charged with putting together this high performance review ? And I have it on the very best authority that said person is boasting that a private equity fund now involved with the Hundred has valued the hair brained crap at £450m…… Ahem……

That win for England must hurt Strauss a lot and do a whole load of damage to his High Performance Review

Coming back to this one, even if England somehow lose this test match from here which i find highly doubtful, this review should just be chucked in the bin.
County Cricket will come alive again now thanks to this new philosophy. More players will want to play test match cricket and more people will want to watch first class cricket therefore forcing the ECB's hand to have the CC in the school holidays.
The Big Bash should serve as the biggest warning to the Hundred, im not opposed to this competition but it certainly shouldnt be at the expense of First Class Cricket.

Am not entirely sure why we need a high performance review when we are the T20 World Champions, ODI World Champions and have a quite outstanding test team.
Wouldn’t it be simpler and much more cost effective if the ECB just tried promoting (shock, horror….) the Championship and then scheduling it appropriately.
The seemingly fading Big Bash is something the ECB would do well to heed. Long-standing support and rivalries do actually matter.
Ashes tickets next summer will now be close on impossible to source, unlike the mass giveaway of Hundred ones….

I agree the review needs binning but what’s the difference between our last disastrous Ashes campaign and the way we are playing test cricket now? The people at the top is the answer. We’ve still got roughly the same squad but they are being managed properly…….remind you of anything/anyone?

Some have instant results others dont. Changes were made 3 years ago in terms of peoples job roles at Sussex and now theyve been adjusted to play to peoples strengths, thats just smart management.

So if Sussex do well next season it’s because of changes that were made 3 years ago? What planet are you on? Always trying to defend the indefensible, must be tiring! Although from someone who calls himself ‘ first class white trash’ I don’t expect anything less 😂

There is nothing very smart about winning only two red ball matches in two seasons.
