Hunt's dropped catch in the second over of the morning starting to prove very costly as this last wicket partnership uses up overs. How often in the last few season's have we seen Sussex get into a dominating match position, only to fail to take full advantage? I agree. What does Hunt bring to the team? Would Karvelas and Currie not be a better option? As per my previous post CP, I would have Currie in the side every time. He is a genuine wicket taking threat. Definitely ahead of Hunt and for me whilst others may not agree, ahead of both Karvelas and despite his good start to the season, Crocombe aswell. All looks immaterial now, as it looks like the weather conditions will win the day. At least we take maximum bonus points, hopefully not reduced this time for a poor over rate. If they get back on for any meaningful play, it will take a monumental batting collapse for us to come away with a win. |

Based on the stats from 2022 he should be named instead of Hunt. Robinson or Karvelas for McAndrew and Smith for the very unfortunate Coles.

A little concerning is the 15 no balls in the match. Hunt and McAndrew the main culprits. I was prepared to give McAndrew a little leeway at Hove as he was getting used to the slope from the Cromwell road end but there’s no excuse to overstep that much from a seasoned professional on a flat ground. Kirtley needs to sort it out.
