Gloucestershire have played 3, drawn 2 and had one abandoned. They sit 5th on 21 points behind Sussex on 28 (which should have been 32 if we hadn’t had a -4 slow over rate deduction)
Hopefully we’ll still have Ollie Robinson for this one as he looked completely undercooked for the last game and obviously needs to bowl more.
Cant think there’ll be any changes other than perhaps swapping Coles in for Clark and if Robinson doesn’t play then Garton comes back in.
Weather forecast for this one not looking too promising for 3 of the 4 days so any bonus points will be crucial.

Coles for Clark, Karvelas for Robinson.
Strange nothing was said about Garton.

Can Karvelas play if Pujara and McAndrew play? I thought he was classed as overseas?

Robinson looked rusty against the Yorkies. He needs overs under his belt so has he got a knock and they are not risking him?

My guess would be that Robinson’s omission is strategic - being saved for the games when Steve Smith is playing as second O/S and McAndrew has to make way.

Glos win the toss and put us in.
Coles comes in for Clark and Hunt is the 4th seamer.

No point saving him if he bowls like he did in the last game. He said himself he didn’t play enough last year. I think he must have pulled up sore.

How and why is Hunt ahead of Karvelas in the pecking order? Karvelas has a first class record of 48 wkts at 25 Hunt has a first class record of 32 wkts at 41
He must be overseas? Otherwise would surely play ahead of Hunt

47-1 after 16 overs before the rain came. No more play today.

Otherwise would surely play ahead of Hunt Brad Currie (admittedly smaller sample only 4 first class games) has 15 wickets at 26 and a better strike rate (39.4) than both of them (53.4 and 67.9). Others may disagree, but I thought he was better than both of them last year, but for some reason can't even make the squad at present. I would opt for Currie ahead of Hunt. As for Karvelas, seems an odd inclusion unless there was some doubt over the fitness of McAndrew.
