Been thinking about the McAndrew and Seales signings. My initial reaction was very positive but looking at when they’re available it would have worked better if they were switched around. Seales fitness hasn’t been tested in 4 day cricket for over a year so we don’t know how his knee might respond to bowling more overs. McAndrew was great for us in the CC but his availability is primarily in the Blast where he wasn’t so good.
Not sure it’s as good as first thought.

Must be a reason for it. Maybe McAndrew wanted a break after Sheffield shield?

Its weird id prefer Seales to McAndrew in the 4 day just for the raw pace, a more exciting signing in my opinion but i take your point. When i first saw the signigns i assumed they were playing together until june and july. Youd assume Unadkat is on their radar to return at the end of the season. I think to cement this is as a good news story youd need to hear what o/s batters are coming in at the same time.
I also dont want an ODC with an out an overseas player again.

Yeah I’d thought that we’d be getting McAndrew and Seales at the same time. Maybe we’re bringing in a batsman after all in light of a possible departure.

Both signings are too short term for my liking. I realise counties have to grab what they can in today’s marketplace but I can’t see the ‘guest bowler of the month’ approach ever delivering much success.

Looks as if the 2024 fixture list will be out next Thursday.

Going back to being 8 points for a draw next season.
Apparently it affected counties like Gloucestershire who had a lot of games rain affected at the beginning of the season so that they had no chance of catching up and challenging for promotion.

All the counties had a run of rain ruined games as I recall, including us. Don’t see why this necessitated a change in the points system.

If Orr does stay you'd now have. Haines Orr Alsop Coles Simpson FHP Carson McAndrew Seales Karvelas Deliberately left 4 out as i dont see a glarignly obvious player in our squad to do that but you could play Carter as a specialist batter but not sure hes capable of being 4 which is usually where your best player sits. 2 more batters needed, if Orr goes 3. Currently on the bench for the CC would be - Clark Carter Ibrahim Hunt Crocombe Very clear we need a bit more depth still. Edited - Forgot about Karvelas! You forgot Lamb again

Shame Ali O has now gone but rumours abound about the relationship with farbrace was not good.

So we move on without GG and AO. Leaving us with a best XI currently of.
Haines Clark Alsop Carter Coles Simpson FHP Lamb Carson Seales Karvelas
Thanks to our excellent pathway and academy system we have enough in reserve to go ahead in to the new season with some excitement.
Plenty in reserve and with 2 or 3 new players coming in too its exciting times for Sussex.

Think someone has been smoking some funny fags again. That side ain't getting us promoted. Mid table mediocrity at best.

Ps how much is Greenfield paying him for his embarrassing posts. His boot licking is out of control like his smoking the dodgy stuff.
