My XI for Northants would be Haines, Clark, Alsop, Pujara, Coles, Carter, Simpson wk, Hudson-Prentice, Robinson, Seales, Karvelas. Pujara is injured I think. But the way Carson bowled today I think he is unselectable. A very enjoyable day, love the attitude in the field they chased everything like it was a CC game. I think Simpson signing is a very key difference he was very vocal and a standard setter. His glove work is outstanding |

What baffles me when people say this is we have a squad of 28 players, granted not all available at the same time but how big do you want it? I don’t want to sound too grumpy. This is March and the season is still full of possibilities. I’m feeling moderately optimistic. That’s about where I am too. It’s the exit. and non replacement , of Orr that stands out. The young players quoted are a bit further down the line than a year ago. That does not stretch to high quality competition for places though imo. Robbo is high quality though. And if Crocombe and hunt are on the bench, that is decent competition. So swings and roundabouts. |

Would certainly make a big difference if he is. |

No front foot no-balls from Hunt today which is an improvement in itself (although there were 2 from Robinson) Thought he looked pretty good to be fair and it’s always good to have a left arm option.
