Why, Jonboy? Please explain why we should have to put up with the "same old, same old" approach? Let us look to see in 12 months times how much 1st team cricket Will Beer plays in all formats. I guess because I believe there is much more to come from Will. He isn't even at an age when spinners are supposed to come in to their own.

I think Wright will be a bit more positive when it comes to using Will than Joyce. Also, I wonder if it's a coincidence that Beer's contract was announced just before Robbo was confirmed to be leaving, or I'm just looking too much into things.

Howardh, what a mean bitter old man you are towards Beer. All your comments are so negative. He must have upset you in the past? Did he get you out? He says net bowler, have you ever thought he might be playing it down? He's out with England! Vettori is coaching all the spinners from what I've read. A chance to show what can be done on dry spinning wickets. An opportunity not given by Robinson. An opportunity to showcase himself.

I think I have the same focus as you Beer's contract must have been on the table for ages so it would appear that he delayed signing until he was certain Robinson wouldn't be here. It is indisputable that Beer's career was held back by Robinson. Perhaps Robinson was right in his negative assessment, but hopefully the lad will now at least get a chance to prove that he was wrong. Good luck to him, although under any coach it's hard to see both Beer and Briggs playing in the same CC XI.
