Why Nash and not Zaidi?

Because there are two left-handed batsmen at the crease?

A bit previous of me, though I'm sure one day Ollie Robinson will aspire to greater things. For now, he re-assumes the Super-underpants that, worn outside his cricket trousers, enable his great feats.

This left-arm attack has certainly got the measure of Malan.

This game is starting to slip away, I fear. It's hard to imagine that we will surpass our first innings' effort and, frankly, 250 is more than I would like us to be chasing. Optimism turning to pessimism over the last 24 hours or so.

People who were not at Lord's yesterday may be unaware that Ollie Robinson took his wickets with off-breaks.

People who were not at Lord's yesterday may be unaware that Ollie Robinson took his wickets with off-breaks. Interesting . . . Was this because he wasn't fit enough to bowl his normal stuff?

I don't think so. If my memory is correct, he bowled some overs at pace with the new ball, but he bowled some spin before that, and then two more overs of spin at the end of the day. He was getting useful turn and bounce.

You can watch highlights on middx website. He bowled offies then switched to seam up when new ball was taken and then back to spin again.he looked superb, too - high classical action and gets real turn, grip and bounce. He was lucky to get the Roland Jones decision because ball spun almost at a right angle.looks a superior spinner to dockrell or burgoyne and a class or two above nash. Seems the spinning answer was staring us in the face all along, although zaidi also looked good on an admittedly helpful strip. Beer really needs to find a new county . superman revealing himself as such a talented spinner is surely the final nail in the poor lads coffin...

Poor Will. Sussex spin options in four day cricket in order as seen by coaching staff
1 Robinson 2 Zaidi 3 Wells 4 Burgoyne 5 Nash 6 anyone on loan 7 Beer
You can shuffle one to six around a bit, but seventh choice is cast in stone!
