A BIG morning today. Already, Somerset are safe. Can the Sussex bowlers take a slew of wickets before lunch and can Hampshire reach parity with Notts or beyond. To use the cliche, both matches will go down to the wire and come 5pm Friday both sets of supporters may be on horse tranquillisers where all those near-missed points over the season come back to haunt you. fluffy, have you been on the ketamine again? You know what it does to you

It looks as if Gale is playing the Sussex way, very positive and aggressive. It would be nice to get him out next, and quickly.

I'm beginning to revise my belief that nothing beats exciting games of cricket.

A real fight from Hampshire before lunch reducing Notts to 55-2 or 69 runs ahead. Meantime, Yorkshire are 138 runs ahead with three wickets down. Once more the clubs are battling punch for punch.
A rogue rain shower at Leeds allows an early lunch. One cannot emphasise how important the post lunch session will be for Sussex. We need to be biting at the tail by tea and keep Yorkshire down to below 250. I cannot see this match ending in a draw especially when the weather is set fair and given the determination of Hampshire to stay up...

This rain might make things a bit tasty if Yorks decide they want to set us a target and go for their shots.

Today isn't going very well is it? If there's a good time for Stuart Broad to repeat 9.3 - 5 - 15 - 8, some time in the next 24 hours would be good.

Now that all the bonus points have been settled, what happens if Sussex lose and Hants win? This is looking a very possible scenario, at present.

Now that all the bonus points have been settled, what happens if Sussex lose and Hants win? This is looking a very possible scenario, at present. We go down if that happens. If we draw, we stay up. If we win then we wipe the silly smiles off Yorkshire faces and then we sort out why we got into this bloody mess.

Important wicket from CJ @255-8. We can't rely on Notts, we're going to have to do this ourselves.
