Doesn't look good, at present. Excellent bowling from Surrey, especially Batty. Lucky to get 120.
Joyce, although a brilliant batsman, is not a T20 player.

Other counties have better T20 bowlers than Sussex.

185, 178, 159, 128, 172 (last 5 T20 scores). So, competitive imho.
Sussex will desperately miss Yardy tonight as the wicket's spinning. Time for Will to be the hero.

Anyone no what the score is? Both Cricinfo and BBC have us stuck on 70-4 for about fifteen minutes. Even we can't be that slow surely

It's ridiculous, it's not like The Oval is some out ground

19th over - 120-4 - Joyce on 33. Now the BBC commentary goes down. What the hell's going on? Must be those solar flares!
edit: 128-4 - Joyce gets a 6 - now on 40. Joyce scores a 4 off Petersen. 133-4. Last over. 140 looks on the cards, although Mahmood bowls last over.
edit: Brown scores a 6 off first ball! 140 - 4 balls left. Sussex were 66-4 - excellent partnership.
Joyce run out for 45. 1 ball remaining. Superb innings from Joyce given the previous state of the game. He may not be a T20 player but he gave the batting stability when it was needed.
Brown scores a 6 off last ball. 33*.
All over. Sussex 148. 28 runs off last two overs. Commentators believe it is not a competitive score on the Oval pitch, especially if KP gets going.
With no Yardy or Jordan available, Sussex will be lucky to win this one.

Now posts have gone missing on here and still Cricinfo and BBC refuse to budge

BBC commentary back on. Commentators reckon the result will be down to the spinners. RHB opens the bowling!! BBC and Cricinfo scorecards still stuck.
Over 1: 1,4,1,*,1,lb. 8-0.
Sussex going for the big squeeze - no slips.
Terrible bowling from Yasir. Three 4s in a row. Amla milking him. 23-0 off 2 overs.
Zaidi into the attack. Another 4... just gets worse and worse...
This is getting painful. This game could be over in 14 overs. Roy punishing Zaidi with 4s. 42-0 off 3 overs. Embarrassing.
Now liddle. First ball the usual wide. 2nd ball is a wide. Oh dear!

This is becoming a massacre. 56-0 - 5th over. Piolet bowling. Roy already 32*. 62 off 5 overs. At this rate, the match will be over in 12 overs.
Liddle smashed for 4. "Its chaos," says the commentator.
69-0 off 6. 11.5 runs an over.
Nash on... best Sussex over to date. Interesting that Beer has not come on yet. Zaidi, RHB, Nash all before him.
78-0 off 8. Good over from Will. Sussex starting to get some control after two good overs.
It would be such an irony if Surrey win with no wickets gone, given the number of people who've paid to see KP bat.
Roy gets his 50 after a 6 off Beer. Online scorecards now 4 overs behind real time. 94-0 off 10 overs.

Piolet drops a hard chance off his own bowling. Roy and Amla in complete control. Sussex bowlers seem devoid of ideas on how to break the partnership. Another 4 for Amla. 100 comes up. This is like Man City playing Brentford.
Is this the wake up call that Sussex require? We do not have a T20 competitive squad. Roy 'toe-ends' a 6. Sums up the match. Liddle being destroyed... as usual. Another 4.
How often have we seen this in recent years.

We don't have a competitive squad full stop, and that's the problem

You can understand why the internet cannot keep up now that Surrey are batting. Not sure where Sussex are going to go from here. Do we have another one day competition that will start soon? A fresh start? Weather looks good for Arundel so I hope it will be a flat pitch, Sussex bat first and score 450, please.
116-0 off 12 overs.
The Surrey commentators are quite rightly enjoying this and now talking about how much they can improve their Net Run Rate. A bit depressing

I do believe KP won't be needed.
Arafat on for his second over. His 1st went for 16. Second over: yorker, yorker, yorker, yorker, 4, 4. Bizarre!
Beer now on. The Surrey crowd singing 'Hey Jude'. Amla gets his 50. Can it get any worse?
