Well well well. A lesson in how to bat on our own ground by none other than Leics - yes that's Leics. Even the notoriously blind Inner Circle, who only visit when the team's doing bad so they can criticise the critics god bless their little souls, should be feeling sick at this one. Where are the wheels Parsons? They ain't on the bus fella.
We can only hope for improvement when Wright returns, I don't even wanna mention Jordan - who's sat on his arse watching RCB play. I fear the biggest and longest lasting problem is gonna be the inevitable backlash any organisation receives when they employ a piss-poor management team which was an existing part of the problem in the first place - re-employ basically but with a little swap here and a little swap there.
P.S. I sincerely hope there is no more rain and both sides get what they deserve.

Sussex's only hope in this game is that the Leicestershire cricketers have overindulged in their celebrations from Leicestershire winning the Premiership title.

Just a reminder that in our second division table predictions thread unofficialsussexccc.freeforums.net/post/16365/thread the average position for Leicester was 6th, whilst the Cricketer magazine and the Akll Out Cricket prediciton both had them at 8th. Funny old game, isn't it?

Early days I suppose, but we do look a bit of a mess again

Yes. The sort of bad day at the office that Archduke Franz Ferdinand had when he visited the Sarajevo branch.

It would be nice if Sussex could win just one session before this match is over.
Comisserations to those who are there today because from the radio commentary it sounds as if Sussex have been utterly abject again this morning. A few nice words from Lizzie about Garton's yorker ("he seems to be able to bowl one an over", she gushed admiringly); but otherwise I don't think I heard a single positive word about Sussex from the commentators all morning...
Things can only get better. Can't they?
Ceertainly can't get any worse than the bowling stats of Sussex's famous five this season to date (including the uni game!)
Magoffin 5 @ 38 Garton 8 @ 43 Shahzad 6 @ 56 Robinson 5 @ 58 Briggs 5 @ 64 (championship only is even worse = 3 @ 93).
The rich legacy just keeps on giving, eh?

Post lunch collapse for Leicestershire. A bit like us except that ours happened around the 130/140 mark. Probably just the wicket becoming unplayable as we bat for the second time.

Our numbers are so depleted that we have an academy boy and our strength and conditioning coach on the field!

Hopefully, Leicestershire will declare after lunch on the 4th day. Not looking good for our defensive spinner who is on 0-88 from 21.

This performance is just not acceptable

Regardless of the result in this game we have to drop Briggs and bring in Finch. Briggs four an over and no wicket, Wells three runs an over and two wicket. No more excuses regarding Briggs and his continued lack of wickets. Brown at 6 and Robinson 7 is one and two positions respectively too high.

This performance is just not acceptable The bowling, fielding and body language while Leics were batting certainly wasn't acceptable. But a century opening partnership is surely evidence of what our indefatigable cheer-leader Parsons keeps telling us is "Robbo's rich legacy". Although sadly it doesn't change the fact that Sussex will go into the next game at Hove not having won a CC at the county ground in more than a year... Hopefully Sussex can bat out the final day tomorrow to earn five pts for the draw. But to be honest, I won't be too upset if Leics win because I think we've already seen enough to suggest that Sussex won't be challenging for the solitary promotion place come September.

Bit of a sweeping statement jb. Most of the batting, some of the bowling and a couple of fielders maybe. Shahzad especially had awful body language in the field and his bowling wasn't up to scratch either. I notice he wasn't on the field after lunch, I hope he isn't injured. Robinsons bowling isn't firing yet but I though Mags, Garton and Wells bowled well. Nash and Joyce are putting up some rear guard action but I think we'll be lucky to get a draw out of this game.
