And Piolet gets LBW with his second ball. There's a pattern emerging!
edit:Spooky! Beer gets his second with the third ball of his next over. Simple catch to mid off. All eyes on the fourth ball of the next over.
edit: Beer gets his third. Finally, he's pitching the ball up and gaining just reward. Time for old boy Ollie. 59-6.
edit: Beer, 4 overs, 3 wickets, 22 runs. Great stuff. Piolet, 4 overs, 1 wicket, 17 runs.
Ollie starts to flex his muscles. Looking dangerous. 84-6 .
edit: Middlesex 107 all out. Surely, we can't make a pig ear's mess of this... Can we?

Middlesex 107 all out. Surely, we can't make a pig ear's mess of this... Can we? No, not even Sussex can fail to chase a total of 107. This is a God-given chance to bounce back into the mix. Depending on NRR, we could even be in the top four in an hour and half as we leap-frog a Kent side that has lost the plot Sussex-style (one win in their last six BishBashBoshes) and probably Somerset, who look like they are going down to Essex (although they have just gone off for bad lightat Taunton and not sure what D/L is saying). At the very least we should be level on pts with Glamorgan in fourth place. The next month is probably make or break for Sussex - and may be for Robinson, too. The squad has 19 days off in the next 34 , so no excuses about too much cricket and being endlessly on the road. Win a handful of T20s, beat Northants away and then Warwicks at Horsham in the county championship and by the end of July, we could be in the Big Bash q/fs and have gone a long way to ensuring Div One cricket in 2015.

What a ridiculous run out by Nash, Finch looking really strong. are you sure bm? 35-2 off 5 overs. On target.
Almost another run out. Can Sussex ever be sensible. Where's the rush? Just nurdle the singles.

What a ridiculous run out by Nash, Finch looking really strong. are you sure bm? Totally sure. Only one result and let's finish it off in 12 or 13 overs and get the NNR rate up. So glad I'm not there. Hate that ruddy Neil Diamond song coming out horribly loud and cleasr via the radio.Commentators saying run-out was Finch's fault, not concentrating and set off very late for a run that was there.

Didn't look like it from here. Again Sussex playing like madmen. Nash almost caught. Just nurdle the singles and take it to the 19th if need be. 54-2 off 8.

Nash gets his 50. He must have seen his average in tonight's programme. He could score more runs tonight than his previous 6 matches.
RHB out. 24 required.
Nash scores the first 6 to the shortest part of the ground. Odd that... Why not more 6s there? Perhaps, afraid of hurting the Members!
Machan out... Silly shot, furious with himself. 12 runs needed. 96-4.
edit: Patel 2 for 24 off 4 overs.
Nash does it. More runs tonight than his previous 6 T20 innings. Is this a sign of better things to come?

Machan out... Silly shot, furious with himself. But doing the right thing to try to finish off the game quickly and get the run rate up. If Hants, Essex and Surrey go through as a given, fourth qualifying place could well be decided on NRR.

Of course I take your point. Run rate always important I agree with you. Just playing devils advocate. THAT'S IT, Sussex win with a 6 and Hey Jude fills the air. Nash unbeaten on 74. Is this the turning point? We're back! Hatchett gets man of the match with his 3-23. Brilliant night. Crowd grew to around 4,250 ( guesstimate). Gossip says groundsman Andy Mackay reckons the pitch was a 180!

Good win - but let's not forget it was against the bottom side who've managed one win in ten and gave up on the competition some time ago.
Home games against Kent (July 11) and Glamorgan (July 15) at Hove will probably determine who gets the fourth quarter-final place after Essex, Hants and Surrey.

Middlesex played like a 2nd XI. Once Morgan went cheaply little resistance. Seemed like a practise match for Sussex. Biggest bonus was Nash scoring runs again whilst captain. Tonight should do his confidence a world of good. As you say 4th place is now a possibility.
Nash honest in his post-match interview. "We've got momentum now. Hoping to gain a QF place. Captaining the last two games, I've doubled the amount of wins from last season. It's given me a bit more energy."
Sussex lye 4th in table but have played one game more than rivals Glamorgan and Kent.

As you say 4th place is now a possibility. Indeed. We finished the game early enough to leapfrog Glamorgan on NRR and are now sitting in fourth place. Againast the odds a q/f place is now there for the taking for the momentum is suddenly with us. Assuming Essex, Hants and Surrey are certainties as the top three, Sussex's two main rivals for the final qualifying place have lost their way. Glamorgan have no win in their last four and Kent have now won only one of their last six. Book your tkts now for July 11 and 15, when we play both counties at Hove in the course of five days that will probably decide who qualifies.Perthaps we can even get the Hove crowd up to 5,000 for the first time in the competition this season. Let's hope for some better pitches , though. It doesn't sound like tonight's tired surface is what is required to bring the crowds in...

We're officially on a roll, let it roll baby roll. Great bowling card - everyone with similar, good economies and wickets all round. And six between Hatchett and Beer, not that I'm bothered about that. Nash back in his best spot in this form I reckon. Good stuff.

We're officially on a roll, let it roll baby roll. Laissez les bons temps rouler, take me to the Mardi Gras, jambalaya, crawfish pie and fillet gumbo, son of a gun, we'll have big fun on the bayou. It's the Cajun version of GOSBTS, I think!
