Mix it up, rest a few, play some youth and experience. Our squad is small but good.
Joyce Salt Wright Finch Wells Cachopa Wiese Jordan Beer Robinson Garton

I'd definately play Salt and Garton. Taylor will play, Wells won't. I'd also play Beer but not Robinson.
Salt Wright Machan Taylor Finch Brown Jordan Shahzad Beer Whittingham Garton

No Essex team announced yet. As mentioned above, few surprises in the Sussex squad.

No Essex team announced yet. As mentioned above, few surprises in the Sussex squad. Likely to be similar to today's team although Napier and Porter for two of Dixon, Masters and Quinn would improve them team further.

What's the unanswerable case for Briggs to be selected ahead of Garton?

What's the unanswerable case for Briggs to be selected ahead of Garton? I think Briggs will play, it'll be between Robinson and Garton. Personally I'd like to see Garton play, he's had a long rest now and his left-arm pace gives some variation to the bowling plus he's an outstanding fielder.

Well, oddly we all seem to agree only five bowlers even though each must bowl ten, rather than four overs. Briggs will need to play a good hand if selected.

My XI would be: Nash Wright (c) Joyce Taylor Machan Brown (wk) Jordan Shahzad Robinson Beer Briggs 5 bowlers? What if one of them goes for 100? All over the shop mate, bit like Critchley. It's a shame we aren't giving Salt some valuable experience. Why not rest Machan for one game and replace him with Salt? He's played every game and it makes sense. I would rest one or two more for this one because it doesn't really weaken us but hey-ho, what do I know - that rhymed by the way. I sincerely hope we play Garton. He's shown plenty, we need to be careful not to waste these opportunities.

Nash out early doors and rate looking slow already after 10 overs.
Need to try post at least 250 I think.

And it's pretty boring. Not even playing Finch let alone Salt but we are at least playing Garton. Finch was a must today, wasteful.
