Onward to the next humiliation. Will Mr Fizz have a nasty niggle in his left little toe? Will Luke Wright find form? Will Sussex field a team that plays to its full potential? For the answers to these and even more pressing existential questions, watch with amazement or listen with mother this Wednesday from 2pm. Be there or be square.

The most frustrating thing for me is that Wright and Jordan can't convert their global form into Sussex form!
Jordan was the most expensive bowler yesterday. Yes he got 3 wickets but the third one was with the last ball of the game which made no difference. He also bowled 3 no balls and 3 wides, more than any other bowler!
At the beginning of the season everyone was saying that we'd be OK when we got Wright back from injury and Jordan back from England/IPL. I'm afraid they've done nothing to justify the high esteem they're held in this season.
Finch showed a real maturity yesterday and did the job that Wright, Nash or Joyce should have done. Joyce is another one, came back into the side on the back of two tons for Ireland but didn't perform for us.
The only conclusion to make is that the Sussex management/coaches are at fault, they are the common denominator. Changes are needed and needed now otherwise all these young exciting players we have coming through are going to start looking elsewhere. Jofra Archer hasn't even got a squad number yet and no announcement of a contract either. It's tardy and unprofessional.

Everyone is getting too emotional here. There are some problems, undoubtedly, BUT what to do? Sack Davo? How much will that cost? A replacement, who? How much? Buy some better experienced players for next year? Who? How much will that cost? Question where will Sussex get the money?
It's easy to point fingers and plenty are doing that.
I have said before, this year should be viewed as a transformation year. Consolidate for 2017. Wright is new to this job including the pressures. A total change from being a soldier, he's now the general. Huge change in attitudes, how players view him etc. We have some good ones coming through and improving. Davo and LW must be left to develop further this year. They are learning about how to develop a club, how they deal with the pressures and who are the players they want. Remember they have taken over a bit of a mess and need to set the culture and strategy. I hope they are.
As for Hants, similar team but they must bat better at the top. No doubt that Nash, Joyce & Wright need to stand up. Mr Fizz for Archer for me. Archer needs the break to look and think what he's done. JL to keep working him.
Finally, we need wickets in Sussex that will suit our team. Not the opposition.

I'm just so frustrated to see the club I love and the team I follow so passionately, fall to such an all-time low.

I agree with grandavefan. There is little we can do but right off 2016 as a disappointing affair and hope lessons can be learnt for next season. Miracles do happen and who knows, a sudden change of form and the club may start winning again. Wholesale changes now will only be destructive and simply won't occur. A major problem were the high expectations back in April, which in hindsight, were unrealistic with so many youngsters being bloodied. And that is the one area of optimism to hold on to for 2017. Meanwhile, Twitter has opened up direct dialogue with the club and players as Luke Wright discovered last night from an upset supporter. They know the score. Everyone is on a fast-track learning curve from Captain to Coach to the youngsters to Greenfield. The key is can such lessons be quickly assimilated and used to improve Sussex CCC for next season? twitter.com/davepalmer01/with_repliesHopefully, Sussex are at their lowest ebb now and can only improve. This mid-term blues seems set in the club's psyche for as we saw during 2013 and 2014, the team then wake up and realise their potential during the last quarter. Fingers-crossed this will happen again.

"Remember they have taken over a bit of a mess "I don't think the club would use that argument to explain the failures this season! At the start of the season, the club was lauding "Robbo's Legacy" - that's what Davis inherited. He was given a flying start! "There are some problems, undoubtedly, BUT what to do? "
Yes, there are problems, but you imply that they're too difficult to deal with. To say that this is (yet another) transitional season is just kicking the can down the road. BTW,I predict (and fear) that the next planned example of Buggin's Turn will occur when Jim finally retires - I'll give you 3 guesses who's lined up for the Chairman's job - but you only need one guess, I'm sure.

Miracles do happen and who knows, a sudden change of form and the club may start winning again. Wholesale changes now will only be destructive and simply won't occur. Don't really go along with that. There is a lot that can be done. It starts with the appointment of someone at the top with a bold vision - and with the energy and enthusiasm to put that vision into practice. Someone like former Sussex batsman Wasim Khan, now English cricket's first non-white chief executive at Leics... To grandavefan, I'd say yes, Davis and Wright have inherited a "bit of a mess" and need to reset "the culture and strategy" (as Khan has done so radically at Leics). But if we accept that is true, then the club really needs to shut up blathering on about "Robinson's rich legacy" and Sussex's "family values". That's the ruddy culture and strategy that need resetting!

Over half way through the season, and can we see the shoots of recovery, can we see signs that the management team are finally starting to get it right? Absolutely not, it's just more of the same, lurching from one crisis to another. For the sake of continuity, and cost ( I'd rather see the money channeled into the squad ) I really want them to make this work, but there are no signs that this is happening.

Sussex fans you truly have my sympathy. As a Kent fan and my friend BM will back me up, Kent have had to endure the same kind of "regeneration" that Sussex seem to be having at the moment. In fact we still have the same coach some 5 years later, but still no success in form of a trophy or promotion. Indeed I fear if we were promoted, we would comes straight down the snake into Div 2 again. It is a case of hanging on in there and supporting the team through thick and thin. Last season Kent made it to T20 blast Q/F's and were knocked out by the eventual champs Lancashire. So this season there was great optimism back in April(isn't there always at the start of the season?). We have reached the same spot as you. Knocked out of the T20 last Friday and then thrashed by Middlesex yesterday! Season over. Why not blood some young players? We have some good young batters coming through, but alas no bowlers. Where things are different is the coaching team. Mark Davis has only been in charge less than 1 year and you expect him to deliver! Our coach is in his 5th year. Achievements for him include young batters with experience, now knocking on England's door and Q/Finals of T20 last year, bowling attack that will struggle to take 20 wkts in Championship cricket. That attack is led by a 40yr old who is being run into the ground, due to him opening the bowling as there's no-one else to do it. Even the future prospects are not being looked after. Sean Dickson scored 99 at Lord yesterday. His reward? Dropped to make way for Bell-Drummond for tomorrows game in the "no-one wants to watch" One day cup V Hampshire. Agreed that Bell-Drummond score 171 not out today on a road at Canterbury, but surely you pick the in form players as your strongest side! Could it be a repeat of Neil Dexter all over again? Remember that BM?) He got Kent to the final of the "Whatever it was called Cup" back in 2008 by scoring 100 V Somerset. Was dropped immediately, treated shabbily some more and was gone by the end of the season. So Sussex fans I feel your pain. Will be down at Hove on Weds. Sitting on the benches by the player's pavilion. Come and say hello!

No @mustafiz90 tomorrow for @sussexccc live commentary on line from 2pm @bbcsussexsport #bbccricket @bcbtigers
Seems Sussex are only playing Mr Fizz, presently, for the T20s. I hope the club are paying him per match!

Look, Garton's played two games in three days and he's still moving - hopefully. 7-83 off 18 overs and one of the chaps he got out was Dickwella, which is always a treat. Great work lad. Gotta play him more, including the next champ game.
Wright and Nash will need to contribute more to getting these runs. Wright has strategically placed himself and Nash at four and five for two games on the bounce now, presuming I have the right order, and I commend that for its stability and consistency at least. Why does Wright keep chasing though? Constantly in the T20s, failing largely, and now the last two RLCs - failing miserably last time. We're s**t at chasing Wright and we've set well this year. Batman bat batman.
