Sussex II to play Middlesex II - Liam Smith, Robson, Woodland, Jenner, Robinson(c), Oxley, Budinger, Hutson(w), Shahzad, Whittingham, Sakande, Clark
Robinson skipper as Salt and Beer are involved in the T20 training this week. Looks a decent seam attack but Oxley may have lots of work to do in this heat.
Middlesex are currently 115-4

It was all going well until that last wicket partnership of 123.
Still, Whittingham in the wickets and Robinson got through 15 overs.
Shahzad wicketless in the seconds - It would take a string of injuries for us to see him in a first team shirt I suspect.

It's amazing how many times that happens, we get them 8 or 9 down but can't finish them off.
Good to see Whittingham and Robinson fit and firing, gives us more options for next week.
Robson out for a 0, he's not pushing his case for a contract at the end of the season.

Second XI lost by an innings and 65 runs after being asked to follow-on. Robson (66) the only score of note.

Robson is probably the only batsman showing any sort of consistency for the seconds, but is it enough for him to get a contract at the end of the season? I would suggest that he still has a bit more to do before we could consider a 2 year deal. In fact, all the second eleven batsmen need a turn around in form, if they are to have a Sussex future
