Ok let's try to look forward to Thursday. New format, new day, maybe a new beginning?!
My team assuming all players fit apart from Machan
Nash Finch Wright Van Zyl Evans Rawlins Brown Archer Weise Beer Shazad/Garton

Briggs and Salt have to play. I'd like to see this line up:
Nash Salt Wright Evans Finch Brown Wiese Archer Beer Briggs Garton

I know Rawlins has fluffed in the two Championship games but so have many more experienced colleagues, and the limited overs game was where he made his mark first for the Under 19s. We seem to all favour the bowling attack of Wiese Archer Garton Beer and Briggs, so how about Rawlins instead of Finch? A hard hitter and a useful extra slow bowling option perhaps.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was favoured over Beer but I think Finch has done enough pre season to be picked and his list A average of 47 is more than useful.

Still looks woefully short, batting wise, certainly if we're looking to challenge

What's Van Zyl's limited over record like?

Beer, Finch and Rawlins should play ahead of Salt whose one-day record is modest.

What's Van Zyl's limited over record like? Generally good rather than exciting: 3131 at almost 36, strike rate 73.73. last few innings disappointing. Pretty much the standard of the purchase.

I prefer to have Luke Wright at three, but who opens with Nash? Finch looks far more comfortable coming in at 4 or 5, but presumably, that's where Van Zyl and Evans will bat. Could the in form Brown open the innings? Keeping and opening the innings is not ideal, I know, but...

I personally think leaving Ben Brown down the order is essential incase we lose a number of wickets early. If not we don't really have anyone of real class to re-build the innings around and finish it off.

He hasn't made the best of starts batting at three in the championship, but if he was used there ahead of a player who has opened for his country, the club must see that has the ability to bat in the top three. There isn't much difference between batting at three, and opening the innings, especially where Sussex are concerned. My side would be, Nash Rawlins Wright Van Zyl Evans or Finch Brown Wiese Archer New overseas Briggs Shahzad or Garton
