Jerome Taylor not exactly packing in the comments on the players thread but I've always quite liked him. Didn't he have a stint at Hants a couple of years ago?
Presuming that injuries are still at the catastrophic level rather than the impossible to actually believe level, I'd like to see a team that goes a little something like this:
Nash Salt Wright Finch Evans Brown Rawlins/Wiese Archer Beer Garton Taylor
I prefer Rawlins to Wiese in most ways but I don't really know how good a spinner he actually is.

Not getting here till the weekend at the earliest, still waiting on his visa. This is not something Sussex can have much influence on. The UK Government's Points Based Managed Migration System administered by the Borders Agency has strict criteria requiring both Governing Body endorsement and Sponsor endorsement, each with their forms and procedures and inevitable processing delays. Its also important to apply for the right level of visa, as Kent found over the Alan Donald fiasco. All in all, its a damn good reason why clubs find it hard to bring in overseas players once the season has started. Signing them up in the winter at least gives a couple of monthgs to encounter and surmount these hurdles.

We have a squad:
Archer Beer Briggs Brown (wk) Evans Finch Garton Jenner Nash Shahzad van Zyl Wiese Wright (c)
My guess would be Jenner and Beer to miss out if Shahzad and Wiese are fully fit.

Not sure about Shahzad - that was a biceps injury, so might take time to heal.

And Middlesex have:
Franklin (c) Finn, Fuller, Gubbins, Helm, Higgins, Malan, Patel, Robson, Roland- Jones, Simpson (wk) Stirling, Voges.
A strong side in principle - but what else would you expect? Could be an interesting game.

I like to think Fuller playing is a positive. He's a splendid bowler but his record against us is interesting to say the least!

Why has Jenner been preferred to Rawlins and Salt?

Why has Jenner been preferred to Rawlins and Salt? A good fielder so will be selected as 12th man. Allows Rawlins and Salt to play 2nd XI and find some form. (Although most of the batting could do with that!)
