Tuesday will be a good test for Sussex against Glamorgan, one of the weaker counties in Division 2 and the One Day Competition. I am sure with a first win under the belt this will do wonders to the team's confidence; as, imho, it is a lack of confidence that is stopping the side playing to their potential.
As some point out, when Sussex are in control of a game, the side are unable to hold on to that position as they hand it back to the opposition. That to me is down to a lack of self-belief/confidence.

Morning. Glamorgan will travel east to Hove in pretty good nick after a loss and a win in this Royal London One Day Cup. As our excellent match day programme points out it does seem that Colin Ingram (runs and wickets) is giving skipper and overseas Jacques Rudolph (178 runs thus far) some cover. Our visitors though did have a starting price of 33/1.
If we can prevent Glamorgan from celebrating a centurion (something we haven't been able to do so far) then we are with a huge chance today.
Come on Sussex big chance to get season 2017 rocking and rolling.
See you all down at Hove mid way through the game.
Colin

Yes, I spotted that. Also of interest the inclusion on Nick Oxley in the squad. Cannot see them playing three spinners so presumably cover for Briggs.

Just got in and quickly viewed the scorecard. Looks good, even allowing for weak Glamorgan bowling and hope that ours will now stand up and be counted as Nash, Brown and Van Zyl did in batting.

Yep, there was some sparkle from Brown, Van Zyl and Wiese today, where 292 is a competitive score. Van Zyl deserved his 100 but one thrash too many. Now, down to the bowlers but if Jerome Taylor comes good, we have an excellent chance of gaining our first win except, of course, if the dreaded DL comes into play which is a distinct possibility. www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2654710

Jerome Taylor's first over, apart from the first ball, was pretty decent. Hasn't looked particularly threatening since then and a fair few four balls so I think they'll take him off soon.
What a run out by Garton! Superb pickup from mid on and throw at one stump!!

The couple of times I have seen him he has a looked a natural all-round cricketer with excellent ball sense. He an Archer are the pick of the new crop.

We really do need to get Rudolph out though. He always seems to get massive scores against us.

Crazy running from Glamorgan after building a good partnership between Carlson & Rudolph. They were not far off getting up on DL. 38 runs behind now.

Comfortably ahead at the moment. If play resumes at 5:50 the twitter feed and Cricinfo states 281 in 43 - so 7 overs fewer but only a reduction of 12 runs.
Allocation for bowlers will be 3 of 9 and 2 of 8.
