Good heavens! When I read news like this I do wonder what on earth is going on behind the Sussex CCC scenes. As our squad depletes and no new players are brought in, I question what Gillespie's future plan actually is?

Oh dear, we've just lost our best wicketkeeper.

I wish Burgess well but how long can we keep losing players without replacing them?
We must have the smallest squad in the country now.

Oh dear, we've just lost our best wicketkeeper. But as we never played him, I guess we haven't.

Oh dear, we've just lost our best wicketkeeper. But as we never played him, I guess we haven't. Firstly, I've watched him play for Sussex a number of times. Secondly, I don't think Brown has earned his place in the side by being the best keeper.

He has now, sadly it’s a similar scenario with quite a few of our players They only get games because we don’t have anybody else

On BBC Radio Sussex commentary today, Adrian Harms says that Burgess is only on loan to Warwickshire. Quite a turn up for the books if true. I am not clear why this wasn't made crystal by the Club.
edit: Harms now clarifies that Burgess is on loan until the end of this season. He then becomes a full-time Warwickshire player. So, is their a new keeper joining Sussex or is there someone in the existing ranks ready to be Brown's substitute?

He can also be re-called by Sussex ( for County Champ only ) if there’s an injury to Brown till the end of the season.
Which suggests he’ll be keeping for Warks in the T20 Blast.
Incidentally, he’s keeping for Sussex 2nd XI today v Middlesex.

"Wicketkeeper-batsman Michael Burgess has joined Warwickshire from Sussex, initially on loan until the end of the season but then on a two-year contract." That was how it was reported four days ago on the BBC. Not the greatest turn up for the books. Are you not a BBC person any more? You can tell it's not news from Sussex though because it states how long his contract is. Sussex wind me up with that nonsense, amongst other things.

Bizarrely, at the top of this page you posted the link to the Sussex website which states quite clearly the terms of Burgess’ departure. Did you not read it?

I have a love/hate relationship. There are increasing times when I consider ending my licence fee. I note this season, for example, the daily news write-ups of Sussex matches is dwindling. Yet, their radio/internet coverage is excellent. I particular like Adrian Harms as a commentator.
That's about all.
Re: That link to the Sussex Cricket, no I didn't read it. You simply see the headline that Burgess has signed for Warwickshire. That alone is enough to depress you.

We have Alsop. What message does this send to Carter and Tear. This is rubbish. I thought Farbrace was better than this.
