So the weather gods were unkind again last night and we walk away with one point. A long way to travel for 8 overs of cricket! Good to see Salt in the team and take his chance, exactly the sort of player we need in the top 4, I hope he keeps his place. Taylor was destructive when he got going but there must be doubts about Nash in this format now. This game is a must win to get ourselves back in contention and to climb off the bottom rung.

Yeah Salt did OK, but perhaps after a quick start, rather meandered along, in what was a nine over game. Definitely deserves to keep his place though

Salt batted very well I thought.
This made me chuckle in The Argus "But Salt, in for the rested Tymal Mills, hit 28 off 21 balls and Ross Taylor fired 40 from 19 in a stand of 68."
Hope Mills had a good rest, he deserves it, perhaps we should rest him for the rest of the blast!!

Sussex Sharks deserve a huge crowd to cheer them on against old foes Kent CCC. We are now starting to motor through the gears and a win at the 1st Central Ground would reflect another massive step towards Edgbaston.
Perhaps a few spots of rain might accompany the action but I am confident of a full match.
I still feel that 25 to one for Sussex to win the 2017 Nat West T20 Blast is great value. Get on !

I'm not quite sure we are motoring through the gears unless this is some reference to your speed at getting away from a damp South Wales. We all know T20 involves a fair chunk of luck or, if you don't like the word "luck", unpredictability. There is as a result a tendency for the table to bunch up as luck tends to even itself out. Let's say one more game is washed out. We probably need a minimum 6 wins and 5 defeats to qualify for the QF. That means 5 wins from 3 defeats from the games left might see us through. A defeat tomorrow against Kent would mean that we really do need to start motoring through the gears. 3 wins out of the next four might mean we could be nearer to reaching for the cruise control.

It certainly does. Who has the foggiest idea which team would have won? Presumably, a lucky snick for 4 by Notts was worth about 16 runs. It's fair enough if both sides only face 5 overs (even though that's a bit silly), but when one side has completed its 20 overs, it makes absolutely no sense.

Reminds me of a game vs Surrey at Hove a few years back where Sussex were 110/0 after 10. Rain came and Surrey were set 60 off 5 which they got easily.

Looks as if we may be unlucky again with the weather with the BBC saying that rain is forecast at 4pm. Crucial to win the toss and bowl first in that situation.

BBC now saying rain from 2pm with thunderstorms at 4pm! In which case Mills will be "rested" for the second match in a row.

People need to get off Mills' back, you know how weak it is. Quality return in his second proper game. He missed three or four games in a season and a half, big deal. As for our media and Mills - "Sodhi and Gurney bowl Notts to victory." That was the headline for the mentioned Northants v Notts game - Yeah? Welcome to the media knuckle heads.
Of bigger concern, again our balance is wrong, again Weise bowls one over, again an impressive homie is dropped for no good reason. That's the real issue. That and insisting on chasing.
Let's see what our four batsmen, including Evans, are made of.

Piffle, Pish and Splosh! 8 runs required off the final over after another absurd D/L decision where it was decided Sussex required 88 runs off 8 overs to win or 11 runs an over, compared to Kent's less than 9 an over innings (176) - and only a 2 over power play allowed - and with 2 runs required off the last ball, a direct hit from long on, a run out, and the match was tied = 1 point each. Congrats to Sussex for making a game of it and great to see Nash get his first 50 in the competition where he showed some of his past form, which sadly has gone South into the Channel this season. Also, to Mills and Archer for gaining the best bowling figures for Sussex, whereas Jordan was hit to all areas. Meanwhile, there is so much luck involved with this competition when the jet-stream decides to move into a rainy pattern for England. But then given today's weather the match could easily have been abandoned, so at least the crowd watched some cricket and the 1 point each, perhaps, was justified. Unlucky Sussex. Kent will go away the happier and more relieved team. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/scorecard/ECKO41164At least, Sussex are off the bottom, but unless the jet stream moves, rain may become the final decider on who will reach the QFs and why any Sussex match that goes the distance, the side must win it. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/english-twenty20/table
