The batting in this game from us has been very poor. Very disappointing and in truth we will learn more from defeat than limping to another draw. I know I keep going on about this but the first thing we need to learn is to take Dan Ibrahim out of the firing line and let him regain form with the second XI. He’s averaging 12.37 and I think that’s probably before his first ball duck today. I wasn't stealing your thunder SP, I hadn't read your post before I submitted mine. However, we are unquestionably in agreement over Ibrahim. A great prospect, but he needs a break from the first-team, which I fully expect he will get upon the return of both Orr and Pujara.

We have done exceptionally well this season considering how weak how weak our bowling attack us.'
We have been lucky with some of the draws:
Yorkshire (H) they should have lost but for the weather Worcestershire (H) they should have won but for bottling it Glamorgan (A) they should have won but for botting it
Derbyshire (H) they should have won but for bottling it
It looks like the weather will save Sussex against Yorkshire once again.
Even the game we won Durham should really have won.
We haven't outplayed the opposition on a single occasion this season.
Garton won't play red ball cricket again as he is constantly injured. If Finn and Garton are not fit to play they should retire. SCCC are a cricket club not a charity case.
Our inability to take 20 wickets in a match is costing us dear.
'We haven't outplayed the opposition on a single occasion this season'. Putting aside where within all the games you mentioned there were period's of play where we most certainly did outplay the opposition. Taking eight wickets before lunch on the first morning in the home fixture against Glamorgan is just one of many examples. Yes, the weather saved us against Yorkshire and may well do again. But, may I suggest you revisit the scorecards from our late April early May fixtures against Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Leicestershire where sizeable sessions of play were lost denying Sussex certain victories. Yes, we are still wotk in progress, but our current position in the table reflects significant improvement and is justified on merit. Wright and lamb will help but we are far from the finished article. I think we have had the rub of the green when it comes to draws.

You think the story of Garton having a groin injury is untrue. What evidence do you have to support this statement?
We did exceptionally well to grab a draw from the jaws of defeat. However the opposition will be kicking themseles for not winning the game.
I am not sure Finn will retire when he can get another year's wages from Sussex.
It's crazy to think a side could get promoted with as little as 4 wins.
I think teams havew won the County Championship with only 4 wins before but i could be wrong. It's my own theory but given we were given no explanation for weeks on his absence, then it was his hip now its his groin Im just thinking that theres more to it. When you criticise my predictable reply, it's a factual statement. It's very easy to criticise and you do it alot. You stated James Coles is way out of his dpeth. He's 19 and averaging nearly 53. What does he need to do to show you he is capable? I just wonder because your expactions are incredibly high. I think Warwickshire won with 5 wins and 10 draws when it was 16 games.
Will be interesting to see if Garton plays in the hundred.
Maybe I was a bit harsh on Coles. Albeit he has had a poor game here. I think he has the potential to go all the way and is undoubtedly the best of the youngsters coming through.

Very disappointing. Without doubt our worst performance in the Championship this season. Completely outclassed in every department and reminiscent of much of our past three seasons. We will do well not to be all out before the close of play. Haines out again to yet another loose shot outside his off stump. If he has real international aspirations he needs to sort this issue out as if he is being found out in Division Two of the County Championship, he will have no chance on the Test Match stage. Overall, as one of our leading batters, he has under performed this season. Completely unreasonable to throw Tear in at three. Clark did well, but shouldn't be getting out to the part-time spin of Lyth. Ibrahim is woefully out of form and needs time back in the seconds to rebuild confidence. Not for the first time this season, we yet again rely on Carter and hope Hudson-Prentice can continue his run of scores. The reality is without strengthening, against stronger opposition these type of performances and results will become the norm if we somehow get promoted this season. On paper Durham an Yorkshire are the best teams in the division.
Haines won't ever play international cricket as he simply is not good enough.

Incredible partnership. Carson is wasted at 9 I think he might be a batter that bowls a bit soon.
Another hour of these 2 in the morning get the lead past 150 and who knows! Ah yeah it's pissing down all day tomorrow.
They should have declared overnight, in my opinion the only theu could force a win with them being in control

No problem at all Devon. I imagine most Sussex supporters are thinking the same thing. We badly need greater depth in our batting resources to give us a few more options.

They scored 78 in 9 or 10 overs. They just weren' clinical enough in the final session. To be honest without Alsop, Orr and Pujara I didn't expect us to last 70 overs. Had they got Carson out early the last two would probably come pretty quickly and been chasing 70 off 12 overs. Sussex have been exceptionally lucky this season when it come to the weather and draws.

Play has been abandoned. It’s a very fortunate draw. Are we going to see a decisive result again this season?

Another five lucky draw points for Sussex. Could Sussex get promoted with just one win all season?

Yorkshire must be cursing the weather. Twice now Sussex have wriggled away from a Yorkie loss and gained an extra 10 and undeserving points.
