All out 338 and FHP career best 5-50 according to Harms. Stuck to the task well and thought they bowled well as a unit. Well bowled FHP; he is maturing nicely. I thought we had some careless bowling sessions by Seales and Karvelas. But overall, managed to apply brakes when required. Well balanced match at the moment. Sometimes when you bowl aggressively runs do flow, happy for them to attack especially if Fynn and Lamb are going to contain the run rate. Much better from Carson too.

There was some sloppy bowling by Seales and Karvelas. Eg; brainless 6nb this morning. On a positive note we look capable of bowling teams out twice. Robinson should be playing. Why did Sussex rest him for this one?

All this stop start stuff just puts him at more risk of injury in my opinion.

If he’s limited to 5 then it should have been the first five to help his county get off to a flyer.

Surely Alsop should open from now on.
Rogers/Clark/Carter to battle it out for four with Pujara at three. Pujara batted at three for India so familiar territory for him.

I was listening to a podcast this week in which Steve Harmison said that for the next ashes tour, his first choice quick bowlers all play for Durham. I wonder if he’s been at Edgbaston these last two days 😀

At last a batting bonus point! Scoring has slowed almost to a stop. Pujara 38 from 144 balls.

We’ve rather let the initiative slip. Shame in particular about the last ball of the day. However it’s still all to play for and we need to eke out a lead tomorrow morning.

Initiative regained! What an excellent morning. Have to admit I wasn’t entirely sure about the signing of Lamb but I’m completely onside now. We’re in a strong position to push for victory. Hope our attack will rise to the occasion.

Don’t want to get too carried away with plenty of high scores around the country but these two have steadied the ship well. As I write Simmo goes to his 100 (200) Great stuff!
