These evil b******s have now hounded him out of the game altogether, even to the point Sussex are not making him part of their T20 squad. This shows how poisonous the mainstream media are that they forced a promising young cricketer to "take a break" from the game for harmless teenage jokes.

There is a complete difference between being stupid and being racist.
At 18 Ollie was stupid. End of.
The ECB have rightly made a big issue of this, but have not handled it well.
Now they need to get a move on and confirm, hopefully, that Ollie was just stupid.

Ollie was clearly beside himself and his genuine remorse was noted by several team mates including Weise on the radio this week. I hope he’s ok and am sure it will blow over. Soon enough. He has clearly matured. Probably best for him to keep a low profile in the next Sussex T20 (or 2) but then get right back in the saddle again . Sure he will be in the England squad set to tour India. |
