Has been sacked by Yorkshire. The young Kent born seam bowling all rounder has been sacked for persistent misconduct. He was thought to be a major talent, might he be worth a look. Maybe a trial in the seconds

No thanks. Might be snapped up by Kent or another second division county. Sussex should be setting their sights a lot higher! Yorkshire were looking for any excuse to get rid of him because they have Shaw, Fisher and Carver coming through who are better. I expect Coad and Wainman to follow him out of the club.

As someone who has actually seen quite a bit of Robinson play I would say he has promise and might do well eventually. I have no idea about his persistent attitude problems which led to his sacking other than the Yorkshire Post says they were numerous rather than one major event. He was a regular member of this seasons 20/20 squad and Martin Moxon seems genuinely sorry to have to release him.
Incidentally Carver is a left arm spinner so no comparison there.Coad and Wainman are still very young so I think will be given more time. The player in the last chance saloon is Ashraf who is 22 and really needs to be playing regularly somewhere. A couple of years ago some were talking about him playing for the Lions. I will watch him closely against Sri Lanka A today.

I think it has to be worth having a look at Robinson, we aren't blessed with young seamers, only Hobden in that age group With so many of our seamers thirty plus, we need to think about drafting in some younger guys. I'm not suggesting he's the answer to our wicket taking shortage, we'll still need to find someone to shoulder the workload with Magoffin, himself no spring chicken.

In terms of next season I think you should replace Coad, Robinson and Wainman with Carver, Fisher and Shaw as the latter three are much better options. I think Ashraf first team experience might save him ahead of the other two. Allegations that Robinson was involved in late night drinking sessions (proper massive benders) and either regularly turning up late for the club or not even turning up at all. Sounds a right little George Best but without the talent to back it up. Rumours he was doing the same at Kent as well.

Bon soir. Ollie is a genuine talent according to farbrace who tells me he has a big future in the game. Young alpha male likes a drink and an all night shag when not playing cricket ? shock horror. English cricket needs the unique talent of Robinson, stokes , Coles ,panesar ,shahzad, KP ,botham, trueman, wardle etc etc far more than it needs the pinstriped execs ,blazered buffoons in the committee room and tracksuited has-been coaches who enviously censure such gifted players for not behaving like boring automatons. A tout a l'huere!

A tout a l'huere! Remind me what the relationship between Farbrace and Robinson is? Every father thinks their son is good. Unlike KP, Botham, Trueman Robinson doesn't have talent to back up his off-field antics and Sussex are better off without him. That is two counties (Yorkshire and Kent) he has been chucked out of.

And he's twenty years of age FFS He is supposed to be a professional sportsman. A sports career is short. There is plenty of time afterwards to act like a complete idiot. I don't see any other 20 year old county cricketers behaving in such an unprofessional manner. Yorkshire are spot on for not tolerating such behaviour.

You think most 20 year old cricketers don't drink and shag? You need to get out more. And unproffesional behaviour? You make it sound like the army. He had a drink and a shag. He didn't bomb a UN school.

As a professional sportsman they are role models to youngsters and as such should conduct themselves both and on and off the pitch in a professional manner and not do anything that would bring the club into disrepute. If a player is stupid enough to break a club's rules repeatedly then he deserves to be sacked. After being sacked by Kent one would have thought Robinson would have learned.

Indiscretion's fine - it's being caught at it that you don't condone. The reality is if you don't want to get caught don't put yourself in that position. He knew the club's rules yet he continued to flaut them repeatedly. He got exactly what he deserved. I don't think any county will take a chance on a player who has been chucked out by two counties for unprofessional behaviour.

Were you a role model at 20 years old? You couldn't even vote at that age when so called bad boys such as trueman and wardle started their careers. All this 'sack them, and a short sharp shock in borstall will do them good' malarkey is sanctimonious claptrap that belongs in the Tory/ukip manifesto and is not a real part of the adult world.

It is because of such laissez-faire Labour attitude that UK is deep in the mire and the country is full of immigrants who have taken our jobs! Cricket has moved on and and without the right discipline and attitude you won't make it in the county game.
