Yes, no surprise. I reckon the Derbyshire home match is the likeliest first appearance or, if not this, then the T20 home game against Somerset on June 1st. The latter might be the more sensible when this sounds rather ominous, "... recovering from two slipped discs in my back is tough so I think it might be a game too soon."
Some people can take six weeks or more to recover from one slipped disc let alone two! And if herniated 6+ months. As we knew, Luke's injury has been well underplayed from the beginning. If he returns too soon, the discs problem could keep flaring up.

We are not children to have bad news carefully managed and hidden from us. No wonder Brown has been badly rattled and is only just hitting his stride. He has probably been saddled with the knowledge that he's likely to be the captain for much of the season whilst trying to keep up the pretence that he's just keeping the seat warm for Luke whio will be back next week...the week after...the week after that at latest...honest!

What is the record for the number of slipped discs during a business class flight? Or is this an oblique reference to Joyce's dropped catches in the last match?

A tweet from Luke Wright two hours ago. Certainly, a time to pray and everything crossed.
Luke Wright @lukewright204
I am starting to bat next week, so all being well and I don't pull up badly from it, I will be back very soon!!!

Luke's playing in a 2nd XI game tomorrow and if ok afterwards will be playing in T20 against Somerset on Wednesday. One problem: will the 2nd XI game be cancelled due to the weather?

Have to wait until tomorrow to see how he can bat. Cachopa making a bid to keep his place in the side that beat Glos - match-winning innings of 61 not out. As long as Wright can stand up and wave his arms about in the field he should play. I reckon his presence will give the whole side a lift worth at least 10 per cent even if he doen't score a run. Interesting that Beer opened the bowling. What about giving him the first over v Gayle tomorrow?

Shame Salt's been overlooked, I was looking forward to watching him but his time will come again. We do look strong and Finch is the form man. Young Tom Haines scored good runs I see, not for the first time. Another young homegrown batter to keep an eager eye on.
