When someone has an injury and the club is asked how long they're likely to be out of the game, why is there this tendency to be over-optimistic? What we've been getting is a series of announcements, each one predicting a later return date than the last one. This doesn't do anyone's credibility any good. I think Luke's own instinct is to tell it like it is - let's hope he continues in this vein, and that the club takes the same approach.

Perhaps, making the situation seem better than it is, means they don't have to do anything about it A bit like last season, they just limped along

This looks a lot like a journalist scraping around for a headline as Luke has replied to the tweet with; " Really? Do you know before me?

Captaincy seems to be a bit of a curse at Sussex, ever since the day Gilligan joined Moseley's Black Shirts!
Dexter's term in office ended when he broke his leg after he managed to run himself over with his own car.
Patuadi lost an eye (although before he became captain).
Grieg was disgraced for running off with Kerry Packer.
Alan Wells' wife tragically took her own life.
Chris Adams has been declared persona non grata.
Yardy's problems with depression resulted in him having to stand down.
Joyce missed a lot of matches because he was off playing for Ireland.
Now we don't know when the current captain might be fit to lead his team...

Why was Nash overlooked for the job?

Why was Nash overlooked for the job? Maybe he wasn't injured enough

Why was Nash overlooked for the job? There was a suggestion that he had stood down as vice-captain, where he several times stood in for Ed Joyce when the latter was on Ireland duty, because the responsibility was hampering his batting form. That decision, however it came about, was made before last autumn's EGM where Luke Wright announced, prior to any Sussex press release, that Ben Brown would be his vice-captain.

And freed from the shackles of vice captaining, Nash has started the season in impressive form

A tweet from Luke this morning saying he's due to have more injections in his back today, which implies that it's still not right.

In a tweet yesterday Luke admits that he's only 50/50 for the T20 next week.
Without Wright, Jordan and Mustafizur but with Mills, Beer and Cachopa coming in what will our T20 line up be?

In a tweet yesterday Luke admits that he's only 50/50 for the T20 next week. Without Wright, Jordan and Mustafizur but with Mills, Beer and Cachopa coming in what will our T20 line up be? Poor. Need to get a new Fiz, one with a better attendance record. Hard-hitting number 5/6 who can be relied on for four overs of seam jumps out to me - I think JB would call it an all-rounder. Here's a little list of chaps that fit the bill - Watson, Morris, Stoinis, Bravo, Faulkner, Albie M, Wasim Akram, Ralf Little and the Fonz. I can't think of any more and I don't know about availatility but just get someone like that. Dwayne Smith.
