Sussex cricket as a brand needs an injection of dynamism. From the D of C to the marketing department, it’s just dull.
The new logo has gone from ‘a new beginning’ to ‘time for marching’ WTF is that supposed to mean? I’m all for marching forward but not with Dads Army!
The very least we need is a dynamic new captain for next seasons CC.

Sussex cricket as a brand needs an injection of dynamism. From the D of C to the marketing department, it’s just dull. The new logo has gone from ‘a new beginning’ to ‘time for marching’ WTF is that supposed to mean? I’m all for marching forward but not with Dads Army! The very least we need is a dynamic new captain for next seasons CC. Travis Head will be captain i think. |

Why would Travis Head, poss Australian ashes player come to Sussex and play and captain with a team of inexperienced boys? Why?
He has no one, no one in the team he will have anything in common.
OR & JA will be away with England, GG IPL? BB, who knows what's happening here? Perhaps Andyb knows, he knows everything else.

I will be surprised if he comes. Would you? I wouldn't. It'll harm his reputation, the failure of captaining the worst team in the CC.
I'm still waiting to hear about these 2 (was it) experienced batters joining. From where? Sussex U19's?
As for revolution, the revolution needs to come soon to get rid of this current bunch.

I think Andy is right, Head has to be favourite for the captains job next season |

As far I know he doesn't play in any T20 franchise stuff so if he isn't on the Australia tour of Sri Lanka in June/July there's not much to stop him having a full summer here. If he does the job domestically I doubt it's going to harm his reputation or chances for Australia if he's not successful here. I must admit, I wouldn't be unhappy to see him back next year despite him having an absolute stinker, he's too good to have another season that bad. He already played the whole RLODC campaign last year with a team of boys and looked like he was happy to lend Haines a hand with advice on fielding positions, bowling changes etc. so he knows what he would be getting himself into. I was also impressed with his attitude despite having a poor season - even in his final game in a completely meaningless match you could tell he desperately wanted to win it. |

I was also bemused by being urged to get marching. Are we supposed to fall in behind our senior club management in striding forth towards the sunlit uplands that will be Championship season 2022?

But let’s face facts if we were the (non) Performance Director for 4/5 seasons of the worst performing county we would hand in our P45 for the benefit of the club!
Salisbury and Kirtley took over a sinking ship from our overhyped & heralded former Australian coach. The club needs a total re-boot and Greenfield & Andrew should walk.
Let whoever takes over make their own judgement on the current coaching team & move forwards.

County Championship 2016 - 4th Div 2 2017 - 4th Div 2 2018 - 3rd Div 2 2019 - 6th Div 2 2 Covid seasons followed and a new approach was born. Let this process play out and we'll see T20 Blast Since 2016 has seen 1 Final 1 Semi Final and 2 Quarter Finals. These stats suggest we've had an ok 5 years without any major success. And no im not settling for ok but it really isnt a sbad as you're making out |
