Grant Flower replaces Jason Swift as batting coach.
That’s more like it.

This is an outstanding piece of recruitment. A high quality coach and more importantly in my opinion a fresh pair of eyes. Someone who hasnt been involved with the club previously.

Finally something we can all agree on!!! Hopefully this might persuade a couple of experienced domestic batsman to sign up too.

On paper it looks good.
We'll see if he can make silk purses out of some of these boys' Personally, I have my doubts that they have the capacity to last the distance. Some have such poor techniques they might not be able to make the change to improve (get better). Too many, imo, are Rory Burns/Dom Sibley cloneish.
I hope they prove me wrong.
Can't beat a correct & proper technique.

That's some interesting comments on their techniques. Ultimately, if we don't bring any more players (especially batsmen) then we've got to find a number 3 from somewhere (assuming Head and Rizwan bat 4 and 5 with Carter keeping and batting 6). Looking at the player profiles, our squad now looks alarmingly small, and thin on batsmen. Admittedly, Rizwan, Head and aren't included, but 4 T20-only players are, as are 2 England bowlers who we might not see anything/much of.
The candidates are Rawlins, Coles, Ward and Clark. Add in that we won't have Rizwan or Head for different spells of the season and we will be stretched.
Or as cday86 says, maybe a new batting coach can entice a new domestic signing or 2...but I doubt that there is anyone available who hasn't already moved. Oh for the days of pleasant surprise Kolpak signings suddnely being announced!

Steady on Ash, let's not go nuts. We should add young Lenham and Hines to that back-up.
What players are you talking of Grandavefan? Can't be Haines, Orr or Carter. Riz? Head? Any of the youth? Probably Rawlins.
Flower looks like a proper one yes. An actual batting coach who's played and coached all over the world at all levels I think. Coming off the back of the Sri Lanka gig I think so warm too. Not sure about Sri Lanka's batting though.
Much better, but still need that three.

Have we signed Ryan or Wavell, a bit old but should add experience
