So this kicks off on Friday, 4am GMT and is to be shown on free-to-air Channel 4.
Good to see Jofra and Stokes back in the squad after a bubble break and Ollie Pope back in after his shoulder surgery.
Edit: Just read that Zak Crawley has a suspected broken wrist after an accident in a training session today. Rotten luck on the lad, it’s his birthday too!

After last minute jitters Channel 4 got the gig while SKY and BT Sport breathed down their necks. At first, it was so exciting until discovering Strauss and Sir Alistair are the primary “expert pundits.”
Tune in at 4am and there’s hope of another few hours sleep, then! 😴

Well, a decent start to England's tour of India although a shame that Sibley went in the last over. Two early wickets tomorrow and our score doesn't look so good. With the pessimist's hat on, we have to remember that this game is taking in place at the ground where England scored over 450 and still lost by an innings. With the optimist's hat on, it's a decent start to a tough tour. Six wickets for Jofra would be nice when India come to bat.

Joe Root only the second England batsman to score 150 in 3 consecutive Tests, the other was Wally Hammond in 1929.

Possible Joseph Root could be taking more of the all rounder berth than Benjamin Stokes in view of the conditions and despite Stokes being employed as the 3rd rather than 4th seamer. If Leach or the other chap dont come off then Root is waiting in the wings.

Top first dig but I'd have liked us to be more progressive in the last sesh so we could have had a little crack at them tonight. Kind of wasted the last hour for me, be more aggressive.

There's a thread for that. Good display from England and their very ordinary spinners, one of them anyway. Should be nailing them for no more than 320 now that Pants has gone, don't enforce the follow on, bat aggressively for a sesh or so and set them 400/450 odd in four/four-an-a-bit sessions. Simple game, one nil, tar very muchly. |

For what it's worth, the bookies offer the shortest odds for a draw. However, it's definitely a big chance and could be our best chance to come out this series with a good result. |

Well I'm a confident guy Phil - especially when it comes to stating what others should do...
Not a lot in the win/draw with the bookies, I'd have England slight favourites personally. They've let the last hour or so of the last couple of days drift a bit though, so that won't help the cause. If we have 110 overs minimum at them last dig, we have to win. It'll be turning square.

A good win and a great start to the series although would India have won if they’d won the toss?
Jos Buttler goes home now so Ben Foalkes will keep wicket in the next one. Stuart Broad will also come in but who does he replace?
