But we'd be in financial ruin, we can go back and forth on this again and again and again. I believe they preserved the long term future of the county you think they ruined it lets move on as its tedious and boring. We will never agree on it. Grubby left his post a year a go and Rob has gone so its time to move on from what has gone wrong or right in the past whatever you believe and thats fine but we need to give our full support to the incoming CEO and Paul Farbrace. If Orr goes obviously its a hammer blow but it also presents opportunity. Yeah fair enough AB. Let’s hope it’s all just a rumour anyway! Have a good evening GOSBTS Likewise! Ill do some digging see if anything comes of it.

Gents, I just don't get this. We were very close to promotion last season. Orr had a very frustrating season with injury. Why would he go to Hampshire when he can prove himself next season at Sussex in all formats. He is still quite young. None of this makes any sense.

I’ve just heard from another source that it is in fact a done deal. Haines was also looking to move on but he’s been persuaded to stay another year.
It suggests a general unrest in the dressing room which isn’t ideal.
Lots of rebuilding to do, Farbrace is going to have a busy winter.

He's at the ground today doing his pre-season training. You sure it’s not to clear out his locker? George Garton was there in the week too doing his rehab.

You’re not wrong. We know them so well. There’s a predictability to the Sussex PR operation.

This is what I feared would happen, losing all our good home grown players because they want to be part of a winning side. If you’ve got any ambition you’re going to go where that ambition can be fulfilled not stay at a club where it’s going to take another few years to rebuild. Spot on Joe. It’s what most of us fans said at the time. Chucking in a load of youngsters when they aren’t ready so you lose virtually every game, and then in a few years if they turn out to be any good they will leave because they want to win stuff. Brilliant plan 🙈 Yep[, if this happens, then that really will be one in the eye for our "policy", and this strange idea not only of flooding the team with youngsters all at once, but also this dreamy Grubby/Squeaky/Salisbury myth that they would all stay and grow together and in 5 years time (of which we've had 3 years) we'd reap the benefits . Of course the better ones are going to catch the attention of other counties and they won't think twice about going. Just wonder what the press release would say..."we can't stand in their way", or "they wanted to leave"...and we're meant to just accept it.

Problem with your statement there John is the process wasnt allowed to be completed. Grubby was removed Rob Andrew to me has inexplicably walked away from it (although thats considered good news by many) As ive pointed out multiple times we were about right after 3 years looking like a winning side again. However the sweeping changes weve seen since December last year havent allowed for any stability. You must have been rubbing your hands together, Orr going gives you another excuse to pop at Grubby and Co its sad really. Its funny i presented you with an opportunity to speak to one of the management team and you walked away!

Keep reeling them all in Andy.
Why would I be "rubbing my hands together" at the prospect of another quality player leaving? Yes it would be another reason to criticise Andrew Grubby and Squeaky, and rightly so as even with one of them gone and the other moved to the side, the damage is clearkly already done, but I'd far sooner see our best players stay.
Did you? When?
Or of course, you are just on the wind-up as most of us know...

When i last spoke to Grubby about how just tolerates the abuse he gets online. The mental health impact on him and his family was very visible. I think it was more the relentless nature of it. I'd bear that in mond when using your keyboard to attack people
Last thing id do is wind anyone up about such serious things. The difference is i know the truth and you just think you do!

Grubby did a very good job when he was in charge of the academy, he identified a lot of young talent and brought them through. He wasn’t a good DofC, the workload was too much and it was well above his capabilities.

I wouldnt agree it wasnt in his capabalities, when his job changed to performance director that probably was beyond his capabilities and that job role become too much for one person but no one knows that. He is a very good academy director and yes i agree he is in the right position.
