This is terrible news. In my opinion the best of the kids and he has gone to Pantshire at the smelly toilet bowel. Doesn’t get any worse than that. And he didn't go for money. I believe Alan Wells and Matt Prior who has said the same for the last 2 years. Management should explain but they won't. You don't need to be a Sussex insider to know it's about our poor management and the lack of ambition by the club eg Andrew and Greenfield. Thank God 1 has gone. Hope the other one goes ASAP. A very sad day for the club. I very much doubt I will renew my membership now. No doubt we will replace Orr with a short term mid 30s signing like the others of Claydon Meaker Finn and Simpson. This truth they keep speaking about wont dont Wells and Prior it rather than winding fans up. Neither would have signed NDA's with the club because theres no reason for them to do so. Orr wanted to double his contract, after missing the bulk of last season he was told to earn it. That is the truth. Take all the emotion out of it and your own beliefs that this all managements fault out of it. He isnt as big a loss as you think, he may prove to be in time but his performances were well below expected when he did play last year and he is a terrible fielder often guilty of switching off. I wish him all the luck in the world but the sad reality is now more players will move if they want to move. I'd calm down a little and dont let the anti management agenda gang allow you to think something that isnt true. Ive sat for the last few days trying to work out why this leaked and how this was leaked. That is the clear issue. There is something bigger going on. |

I think the player is very friendly with Ben Brown, so draw your own conclusions on what happened here !
Sadly, he is just the type of player Hampshire would be looking at as their 4 day batting was dire last year and they no doubt pay more. I don't imagine that he would have endeared himself to PF, playing club cricket for Eastbourne and re-breaking his finger just as he was about to return to the side.
On the other hand, we did play most of the games without him last year & there are other youngsters coming through in Rogers and Lion-Cachet etc also. I doubt if our winter recruitment is finished. No-one has yet been released and maybe it opens up a slot for an overseas opener/captain.
As another post has said, this is though now just systematic of the modern game.

Just received a very interesting text from a very reliable source, basically just asked her wtf is actually going on here.
Things are a little clearer now and there are things that make a lot more sense.
I know why this was leaked and the reasons behind it, i wont betray her trust but I've asked if the outgoing CEO will make a formal statement on his departure, Maybe was the response!
1 or 2 people on here wont be seen after i'd imagine.

When you ask John and Joe questions as to why they think its Grubbys fault they refuse to answer time and time again. Either answer and speak or your agenda becomes clearer. To repeat it is absolutely fine that you blame the poor management for whats gone on, i simply ask why? I ask why Alan Wells and Matt Prior are saying inflammatory things then stopping short when they mention the word 'Truth'. Dig deeper, its to easy just to say its managements fault. Its no secret im a huge admirer of Keith he is an outstanding human being with a lovely family and conversations weve had ive often disagreed with him but i trust him. I wish he was still DOC but thats not my decision. |

Gutted about this!! Quality player and will play for England very soon in my opinion.
Do I blame him, not at all.
The club I love is rotten, broken. I’m surprised Sussex managed to actually bother with a rather polite statement about Orr’s contribution.

I also have no idea why on earth Sussex would release him from his contract a year early. That’s utterly crazy in my view. (Also if Squeaky and the board hadn’t messed up the development we would have the money to pay him properly) But Realab lets not kid ourselves he’s a huge huge loss. He’s a 22 year opening bat who averages 40 in county champs, 47 in one day cricket and can smack it everywhere in T20. Name a domestic opening bat who we could sign who’s better? |

If everything is so good why have we lost a whole team in the last 2 seasons? Says it all. Thank god Greenfield has gone but it went under the radar. Obviously he did a great job didn't he. Not. The fact yo keep calling him Keith shows your either family or a good mate. Most on here no the truth he was useless like Andrew.

Thats exactly the point, WE CANT! Hampshire can and thats what they did. You are one of the easier ones to talk to because you have an open mind when it comes to all the problems facing Sussex, yes it could be down to bad management but personally i dont believe that i believe its a sign of the times. For those wanting Prior CEO have a look at him on companies house, I wouldnt leave him to make a Jelly let alone run our cricket club. |

Theres an hours interview with Rob and Farbrace explaining the reshuffle so hardly under the radar. I will make sure to call him Mr Greenfield going forward. Mr Greenfield is academy director so he has ZERO input to the first team, ZERO! He couldnt influence this move even if he tried. |

This was deliberately leaked a week ago, so the board would have known including Adams and Gould so why walk today. Joe knows the answer and i'd imagine he may get his wish.
