With Clark, Rawlins and Sarro dropped to the second XI and playing alongside Beer, Orr and Carter also playing it looks like from playing an extra batsman we are going to play an extra bowler.
Thomason Haines Van Zyl Head Brown c, wk Garton Robinson Meaker Carson Crocombe Atkins

One stupid move to another sounds about right. Let's hope you're wrong Mr Sharkey.

One stupid move to another sounds about right. Let's hope you're wrong Mr Sharkey. Unless Salt is fit three weeks earlier than I was expecting, Scott Lenham is being given a debut or Wright / Bopara is suddenly playing red ball cricket then I don't think we have another batsman.

Wrong side, too young. Not had the grounding of playing 3 day cricket, straight into 4 day cricket. Last year and the last 3 games have shown they run out of stamina etc during the 3rd day. Rawlins, just a 20/20 batter. No idea how to play a longer game. Clark some ability but, needs to time to learn to play the longer game.
I fear keep playing these boys will have a negative effect on them. Heavy losses against men will be crushing to them. Careful management is needed.
Coverpoints team, has some pluses but, too many seamers. Meaker, what does a former England bowler offer the team? Nothing as I see from here. You'd think he might be a leader. Obviously not from his performances. I'd play another allrounder. Garton, can't last, already missed a game through injury. Bowling is inconsistent at best. And Lenham? Read above coverpoint. A bit of learning first. Shame we haven't got a 2nd keeper, Brown would be under pressure to perform. Time for the coach to be pragmatic with his selections. I wish them well but fear for them. Another defeat looming I'm afraid.

Do keep up old bean!

Will he won't he? Will he or won't he play? This could become the new soap on the South Coast.

Yes a very timely contract me thinks. I’m not a betting man but I’d put 50p on him playing in the Kent game. He also bowls slow left arm so a good swap for Rawlins.

Jofra Archer is named in the squad and Garton returns. On paper, this is the strongest 2021 Sussex squad so far. Salisbury means business! Add Chris Jordan later on and you have a full house, aces on top. This is an interesting "factoid". Six of Sussex's squad for the Kent match (Jack Carson, Tom Clark, Henry Crocombe, Tom Haines, Aaron Thomason, Delray Rawlins) weren't born when Darren Stevens made his first-class debut in May 1997.sussexcricket.co.uk/news/jofra-archer-named-squad-visit-kent
