Another rubbish umpiring decision. 0/10 for the umpires in this match.

What a waste of everyone's time! Just call the game off FFS! Can’t just call it off, and let’s face it, this isn’t the first game of first class cricket to be drifting towards a draw.

On the bright side .....
If Brown bowled underarm with a long stop, he may take a wicket 😂

Muyeye in. Used all the Sussex facilities while at Eastbourne College. Age group games, nets, friendlies etc etc. Should have been signed by Sussex. Now using this game as an outdoor net.

Thank God it's a draw!
At least, we can walk away from this surreal match with 13 points in the bag.

Bizarre indeed. Play restarted and Kent batting on. Joke cricket. Very disappointing. Idiotic. I refuse to swear at the Kent brainless management. Brown should take his pads off, and bowl with a long stop. Bowl underarm!!! Haven't they outlawed that? 😉 NB There was no way Kent would 'make a game of it' by an "entertaining" declaration. Sussex won the toss and put Kent in - thereafter it's their job to force a victory, not Kent's.

Like the management. What we were two years ago ain't necessarily what we are now. I'm very happy with the youth policy, now. I'm not happy with the secrecy, not of the poxy reporter, the club and I'm not happy with the mind-blowingly incompetence of the management/skipper. The latest thing being the captain and the coach not discussing with each other the availability of a certain bowler - how can that not have been discussed? It's unfathomable and if you don't agree you're a clown my friend. The one before that was only picking four bowlers knowing you have restrictions on one of them - mind-blowingly inept. And if you don't agree with that, you're a clown my friend. As for my happiness - meh, I'm alright I spose. Like the youth policy a lot but that won't determine my mood much. I know you must be stressed cos it's *** hard work chasing word criminals around. You're lucky there's only one of us.

P.S. Another inexplicably poor game from Sussex - many confusing bizarreness with plain stupidity, twice in this game.
We've come undone quickly, the buck stops at Salisbury and Brown's door - presuming they live together.
Get a grip. Let people in on important information too otherwise stuff flares up.

It's pretty standard - if you insert the opposition you are expecting to bowl them out cheaply and go on to win the game. Sussex did the first part of this, but weather, injuries and some (for once) good batting from Kent's batsmen stopped them doing the second. Why on earth should Kent give up 8 points for a draw - even if the chance of Sussex chasing down a total in 30 or 40 overs was 1%? The commentary (by both BBC Kent & Sussex commentators) was nonsense yesterday - there was no way Kent would have declared. And quite right too.

Must admit one of strangest things I have heard. Players after getting changed then warm up. Game starts and captain unaware Archer cant bowl.

Captain Brown reflects on the match and the last six weeks.
On Jofra
I really feel for him. He’s in a difficult situation, with that skill of bowling really fast being taken away from him if you like. This week has been very challenging for him. He was hopeful about how it would go, but he’s felt pretty sore in this game... We all want him to be fully fit and firing for England and for the Ashes and things like that. We tried to do what was right for Jofra’s career, and he needed to play in this match to prove his fitness, but it just hasn’t worked out this week.

You're right though, a victory wasn't likely. That isn't the bit I'm taking issue with, it's the idea that you don't have to try and force a win unless you have inserted the oppo. Next time England play Zimbabwe should we not try to force the win if we're inserted?
