I doubt we'll see Archer or Robinson much if at all next year, maybe Archer if he gets fit as he’ll need some red ball cricket to get match fit again. Even if Archer had been fit for this one, he'd have been off playing in the IPL probably. Please, let’s not go making out that those three not playing is an excuse for what is looking like another hefty defeat. Well if management aren't to blame, I'm really not too sure who is. We can't just dismiss our decline and performances this season as one of those things. We all want to see them perform and get runs, but I really doubt they're getting any confidence from being thrown in en masse week after week and being thrashed. I admire your optimism, and 5-year plans are great, provided you've a) actually got some experienced players involved at the start of it to supplement the young players (we haven't, we either let them leave or find any number of reasons not to select them) and b) have some legitimate reason as to why you're going that way - we've yet to be told satisfactorily why that is. And what if all your experienced players are unavailable for any reason. Do you honestly think hand on heart this is the side Ian Salisbury wants to put out? It's not about optimism for me it's about not always looking for the negative at every point. When I look back at the end of Robbos reign i was watching players on loan like Tredwell, Linley, Burgoyne, Dockerill to name but a few and we were still getting beat, I'll alwyas rather lose with home grown talent than win occassionally with county journeymen. Apologies, by management, I'm referring to Andrew, Greenfield and Warren. That said, the refusal to pick certain players for various to select experienced does lie with Salisbury, unless he's being influenced from higher above. There should never be a reason for all of your experienced players to be unavailable at once (unless you haven't got any left, keep letting them leave, fly home etc.) but we seem to have found a way of excluding virtually all of them of late and various excueses for others at other times. I see no reason why Salt, Jordan (neither of whom have played a championship game this season) or Garton or even the players retiring couldn't have played in certain championship games this season. The excuse for Garton not playing last week: he'd only bowled 4-over or 20-balls in a day in the month leading up to it...yet we chucked Hunt straight back in last week and Atkins this week after not bowling in the championship for months. Makes no sense.

I just geneuinely trust the motives of Andrew and Greenfield too deliver a strong side in the long term on a very very tight budget

Fourth loss in a row in Division 3, at least this time not by an innings, but by 9 wickets instead.
There is a fine line between giving the youngsters a chance and Club humiliation. We could end up holding the Championship wooden spoon.
Fourteen years ago we won the Trophy!

His recruitment has been a disaster with so much cash wasted and he can’t keep hold of our best players. He’s been a complete and utter disaster

I noticed Phil Salt and Ollie Robinson were at the ground today and in their training kit. Why didn’t they play? Salisbury had them at his disposal but chose not to play them. Both are still on the Sussex pay roll.

Well, Sussex may have finished 18th for the first time in 21 years, but they still managed to break a near 100-year-old record: highest score in a first class match where the innings contained six ducks. Waiting for the Sussex website spin: "Sussex's very young side fought hard but, despite a counter-attacking 50 from Delray Rawlins, were ultimately beaten by a stronger Derbyshire team....." And so we head into the close season. It will be interesting to see the make-up of the Championship team and the management come April 2022. If Eva Petulengro were still alive she would no doubt be able tell us now.

Is he not involved in recruitment or retention of players? Because he said he was at the members forum. And if he is then he’s been utterly hopeless

According to Adrian Harms on commentary something happening during the tea interval. Please let it be the announcement of a new signing for next season. Haines awarded his county cap.

£20.00 a bit steep I’d say £20.00 is very steep a fiver might be a more realistic price and I would probably begrudge paying that 😂😂😂

Phil Salts first class average is 30. My point is hes not the saviour some think he is in my opinion
