You like so many others do not understand his role however i agree his job description should be clarified. I’m intrigued Andy. What is his role then? Is he not involved in recruitment or retention of players? Because he said he was at the members forum. And if he is then he’s been utterly hopeless Your post has changed from what you originally said, he doesnt control the money which you claim he wasted.

£20.00 a bit steep I’d say £20.00 is very steep a fiver might be a more realistic price and I would probably begrudge paying that Have to disagree with this. A day's county cricket has to be worth £20. What benchmark are you using when you say that's expensive? Surely you don't expect a county to reduce its prices because it's having a bad season?! In truth County cricket has always been good value, a whole days entertainment for £20 isn’t bad, I was just surprised at how much it had gone up considering the standard of the team and the division they play in. I appreciate that they have much the same expenses, I was being a bit tongue in cheek, but only a bit!

But by signing players such as Meaker and Claydon he has wasted money hasn’t he?

Grubby has been in charge for five years and we’ve got steadily worse each year. His recruitment has been a disaster with so much cash wasted and he can’t keep hold of our best players. He’s been a complete and utter disaster You like so many others do not understand his role however i agree his job description should be clarified. Who is Grubby?

Andyb knows a lot by the way - what with him working closely with our unwanted leaders. Was good money made from T20 this year Andyb?
On a brighter note, congrats to Wingman for finally nailing the quote feature - you da man Wingman.
Lose Andrew and Warren or forever be in Championship hell.
Up the youth, carefully nurtured and surrounded by experience - as long as it's quality experience and not people like Claydon.

This implies that you, unlike many others, do understand his role. So, how would you describe it, and what 'clarification' is required?

I’ll make this easy, after watching the inept display yesterday (paying £20 for the privilege) Andrew, Greenfield and the chairman ALL need to go.
We have gone from promising challengers to also rans ever since the appointment of Gillespie. Unable to compete with Derbyshire and Leicestershire in 4 day cricket is embarrassing whilst investing heavily in the white ball game.
Great to see Luke Wells & Danny Briggs fighting for the title, 2 players that were never given opportunities they deserved by the management.
I’m all for giving youth a chance but how we have gone about it is reckless and another shocking oversight.
We need clear direction, passion and a born winner in charge………Chris Adams is available……

I think Chris Adams would make an excellent Director of Cricket for Sussex but please don’t let Matt Prior anywhere near the management, he’s a disruptive influence and wasn’t called the Big Cheese for nothing.

All you doubters be careful what you wish for regarding management changes. The current management need time to progress the youth oriented plan. Quality ex players like Prior and Adam's hopefully can offer their services to develop the youth.

We’ve only got a youth policy because we’ve let all our experienced players go and they’re all we’ve got left! I’m all for the home grown youth coming through but into a side with seasoned pros to teach them winning ways. There’s something rotten at the top and it needs flushing out.
