The Derbyshire thread led to a lot of discussion about what is right and wrong at Sussex CCC at the moment. This thread is your chance to give your thoughts on how 2021 measured up in the County Championship, T20 Blast and Royal London One Day Cup. It would be good to hear views on all three formats. What can we realistically hope for in 2022? Over to you.

With Northeast going to Glamorgan and with limited availability of domestic experienced batters i think we will use both overseas player slots on Batters and then try and get 1 more seamer in. It was really good to hear Rob Andrew say he was looking to address the inbalance in the side caused by circumstances beyond their control
I really do think we have a bright future.

I wish I had your confidence Andy! But is there any county with a worse squad than ours? It’s a huge winter for the club but I really don’t have any faith in Grubby or Squeaky to deliver. As stated by Luke Wright our retention and recruitment of players under these two has been woeful

Agree on the recruitment - experienced reliable seamer and two batsmen. Two being the overseas spots and the other domestic. As mentioned above, it’s a big winter and the quality of player that we can (or can’t) attract will tell us a lot.

And I agree it is a huge winter for recruitment the 3 new players have to be the right ones and have to perform.

I see Fatt Prior has been criticising the club on twitter again. To me all this does is stoke a fire that really doesnt need it. If he loves the club he should support it.
Halsall is a big loss but not sure his departure is worthy of the huge crticisim he is giving.

He will be a major loss to the Academy and Pro staff.

Fat Prior? How childish and rude. Matt is one of the best players I have seen in the last 20 years and obviously loves the club. Rather have him and Adams in charge than the current shower. Matt talks a lot of sense and from what I hear he is very well supported by the fans unlike Andrew and Greenfield. Perhaps the senior management should engage with him and Adams and get them on board. We could also do with some answers as to why we have lost so many senior players over the last 2 years and now Halsall let alone why was Brown sacked as captain half way through the season. Complete lack of communication. Andrew now admits we had too many youngsters in the team when the world and his wife knew that at the start of the season. Greenfield and Andrew should go but do Turkeys vote for xmas?

Surely they are entitled to opinion especially as sure they know what is going on

Andyb is one of them Trolleybuss. He's scared of criticism because he might lose his cushy job under Greenfield. When a management type like Andrew states the obvious, that as you say, was clear to all and his dog nine months ago, it is an acceptance of abject failure. Does anybody want this man to lead Sussex, other than Andyb? I suspect not. As you say, we'd all prefer the legend Matty Prior any day of the week than this shower... indeed.

Why the need to sound off on twitter. Very cheap behaviour and not welcome. As I have said before, these individuals can give a lot to the development of the talented youth. Scoring cheap shots on twitter is not the way to do it.
