Sussex were twice beaten by MCC young cricketers in the T20 competition, despite fielding strong sides including the likes of RHB, Arafat, Liddle, Piolet and even Chris Jordan. There must be some talent worth looking at amongst the MCC boys if they were able to turn us over twice

Sussex have a couple of T20 games against Surrey today. Surrey have just completed their innings, 164-5, and Sussex in reply are 20-1, with RHB the man out. So far no sign in an upturn in Liddle's fortunes, this morning no wickets for 42 off his four overs. He's gone from being, perhaps our best one day bowler, to actually becoming a liability. Does anyone know if he has made changes to his action, or what it is that might be causing the problem

I know we won at least one of them JB - any details?

Sketchy but from twitter it seems we won both games fairly convincingly against, on paper at least, a very strong Surrey side. In terms of performances, I think there were good knocks from Wells, Finch twice, Brown and RHB in the second match. Hobden was also amongst the wickets in game two. Well done the seconds after the disappointment of the double defeat against MCC

Well ruddy bloody jolly good then. Finch, contributions x 2 - might have done a bit if he didn't come in at nine against SL, but who knows, which is the point. Talk of who's done what for the seconds so far on another thread was maybe a bit premature, given that they haven't played a competative 3 day game yet. The first starts on Monday I think, and unless Beer and Hatchett have been miraculously promoted to the first team, it'll be interesting to see what they do, and others, and if it makes a blind bit of difference to anything.

Yes I was following yesterday on twitter A gritty performance from Sussex in difficult conditions. Boundaries were at a premium with the wet outfield. On a separate note, does anyone know what is the state of play with John Glover? I was lucky enough to see his first class debut for Sussex at the Parks and he looked pretty useful. At that time he was regularly involved with the first eleven boys, I remember seeing him warming up at a few matches. I know he suffered a series of injuries but I did note he is now back playing for Worthing. At 21 he should still have a chance of carving out a career, providing he's completely over his injury.

There may be four firsties playing but this one is all about Beer, Hatchett, H-P and Jackson. Not for the first time, the Axe-man has single handedly dismantled the top order. When will he get the chance he richly deserves? Beer too?

Sussex win the one innings match by 119 runs, with good performances from those mentioned above. Well done Sussex Seconds

I was at the ground till tea. Matt Prior turned up at 2pm and kept wicket. How did he seem? Was he fully mobile?

Maybe we can play him in Friday's T20 then - in fact surely. Could do with putting him somewhere at the top and then moving maybe Wright to our achillies heel, the middle order. If not Wright, someone, cos that area will cost us. Sammy would have been alright but that ain't gonna happen as Parsons belatedly pointed out on another thread.

Sussex back at Eastbourne today taking on the same opponents in a 50 overs match A very young and inexperienced side, with only three staff playing, captain, Finch, Jackson and Hatchet

Sussex have restricted Hampshire to 185-8 off their 50 overs with three wickets for Wadlan, and two for Moses

I have to say there have been some promising cameos from some of the younger players this season, often against more experienced opponents. Leo Cammish's knock yesterday was the latest. Incidently, there were three wickets for young Mason Crane bowling for Hampshire against the county of his birth
