This is the problem, we're going to be without Prior, Jordan, Yardy and maybe Joyce and none of our own contracted batsmen are in any sort of form. They will play by default as we have no one else.

Beer out for 5 leaving Essex 64 to win off a mere ninety odd overs

How did we get on? I jest, but the seconds have a busy July with three Champ games and three Trophy games starting tomorrow at the Parks against the MCC, or someone - so if you still live in Oxford JB... Anyway, some serious door knocking is needed by certain players, like Finch and Jackson to name two. Beer will no doubt knock as hard as ever and I wonder if Machan will make a mysterious appearance like last time, despite apparently being injured. God knows what seamers will turn up, the two best are in the firsts so maybe we can expect a load of youngens (which is how it should be anyway) like Whittingham.
Watch this space - or that one on twitter.

With the Under 17s also playing I would expect Beer, Finch and Jackson to be supplemented with Shoare, Hudson-Prentice, Hooper, Hayward, Salt, Sakande, Moses, Grant and Whittingham.

Shoare? I watched Horsham the other week, looks washed up to me! Thinks he's better than he is!
Poor this year, poor attitude through out the game. I think Tom Haines a better bet for the future.

I think you are a little unfair with regards to Shoare as both he and Haines are averaging 37 for Sussex this season. Haines is an excellent prospect. However, Greenfield must think something of him as he has made him Academy captain ahead of Hayward, Hooper and Hudson-Prentice who are all excellent players. On a seperate note why is Cammish not keeping for the Under 17s?

Ok, when I said watch this space I really meant somebody post the score and details on here so I don't have to look through that Twatter ****e - you lousy punks. So I had a look, couldn't see anything. The fixture list says we played but the only person I know who would definitley know is abroad - and woman know nothing about cricket.
Hiyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwww!
Night everybody.

I would have gone to this one and had a look at some of the youngsters first hand, but alas I'm stuck in Norfolk. Good economical bowling from Beer and Liddle have set us up nicely. Would be good if Machan could get some runs, as he's been well short of what he's capable of recently. Harry Finch failed again.

Anyone know how this match is progressing, the twitter feed doesn't seem to be working?

Still can't update the twitter feed. From the Middlesex site, Sussex declared at their overnight score and Middlesex were 74-3, I think that was at lunch

Middlesex finish on 267-5 and the match is drawn. Four wickets again for Matt Hobden

Some good news, as Sussex qualify for a semi final place in the Second Eleven Trophy completion following yesterday's win against Gloucestershire
