Good to see Mike Yardy 99 not out overnight for the seconds at Purley against Surrey.

111 for Yardy and five first innings wickets between Sakande and Hudson-Prentice.

And for Zaidi. Anyon's figures not particularly impressive at this level

A very strong second eleven side including, Yardy, Wells, Piolet, Zaidi, Beer, Liddle,Lewis, Hatchett and Ben Brown are struggling at 104-6 against Somerset at Blackstone

We've relied on the excellence of Joyce, Wright and Magoffin all season and the contributions of just about everyone else have been negligible.

Why would he play rather than Fynn if brown is playing. Selection has obviously been affected by the need for some practice for brown and wells and anyon and Lewis all of whom may be considered for next Tuesday after injury or just lack of form.

Jackson is contracted, Hudson-Prentice at the moment isn't. Jackson can bat as he showed with 172 recently.

You ćonfuse me even more Martyn...alas second eleven selection is based on a lot of things like trials, practice ,injury etc. perhaps jackson was busy...or machan yardy wells and brown needed a game more

I agree, why play FHP? And bat him above better players?
It confirms my long held thought, the management can't manage!

Fundamentally you put your strongest available side out. At the moment Jackson is the better player. As for Jackson being busy, busy doing what? I am not arguing about Yardy, Wells, Machan or Brown playing but why Jackson isn't.
