245/7 at the close of play.
Could be better, could be worse.

Rawlins is pony Liquid. Wouldn’t get in our 2nd X1.

Thank god for Carter and Clark who saved Sussex from further embarrassment. The rest of the batting (Alsop, Haines, Seifert, Ibrahim, Rawlins and Lenham) was once again extremely poor.

Difficult day to sum up. Part of me feels we haven't got enough runs, the other says wait until both sides have batted on what looks like a wicket that has a bit in it for the bowlers.
Bigger concern, our bowling attack that consistently fails to take twenty wickets in a match. It looks considerably weaker than the opposition's and has no obvious equivalents to the experience of Hogan and Neser who bowled exceptionally well and the spin of Salter who just tied down one end. Oh, how much we could do with Jack Carter on this track.
I can understand the frustration at the batters who didn't produce, but let's not let Friday night's shambles colour our judgement.
In fairness the openers had to contend with a good opening spell with the new ball (we can't continually rely on Haines). Neither were out to rash shots. Seifert gave us half an hour of text book forward defensives before getting a good one that nipped back in. Ibrahim looked a player who hadn't had much cricket recently and Archie was a little unlucky. In fairness, even Delray batted sensibly despite our expectation of a rush of blood at any moment. Got done by one pushed down his legside and he lost his balance. Smart by Glamorgan rather than daft by Delray.
However, as Joe correctly pointed out not sure why he felt the need to hang around and glare at the Umpire. I could give that out twenty plus rows back in the stands. At least he didn't quizically look at his bat today Joe.
In fairness, the player who got out to the loosest shot was Clark, who just got frustrated by lack of scoring opportunities and Salter's control and went down the wicket 'full Delray'. Still got a useful fifty plus though.
It felt as though we missed the steadying influence of Pujara, but as Liquid wrote given the players available it was probably the strongest team we could put out.
As for Oli, once he got past a nervy start he was outstanding the rest of the day. Got his head down, weathered the good ones that went past his outside edge and remained patient picking off the singles and punishing the bad balls. Both Liquid and I have always said this kid has got something. He isn't where Haines, Orr and Clark are yet, but he will get there given time, patience and opportunities batting in the right place in the batting order. Good support from Crocombe at the end of the day. Another forty or fifty runs tomorrow morning would make it a respectable total.
Today's Management muddle, taking Finn to Cardiff and including him in the squad when it must have been fairly obvious given his recent injury struggles he was never going to be fit to play.
Not wishing to take delight in other's misfortune, but Cooke limped off in the final session. They may be a batter light. Every little helps!!

I think you meant Jack Carson and I agree he would have been very useful on this track. He must be close to a return? Delray didn’t look as his bat this time because he didn’t hit it!!

Ollie Carter goes past 150, he’s making it look easy.
50 partnership with Brooks who looks better than a No 10.
3 very welcome batting points.

Phenomenal. Sublime. Gutsy. But enough about my breakfast, this kid Juice is awesome. I disagree Devon, he was up there with Orr and ahead of Clark last season let alone this one. But stupid management has hindered him slightly. There's numerous people around us who just don't know what they're looking at, despite watching, playing and being involved in the game for years. Especially on here. Hey, we all love Riz but where's his ton?
Rawlins is more donkey than pony Steve. And he'd be the best fielder Surrey have if he was there, never mind the second team. His bowling is much improved and as for his batting - eoooorrrr!
They can't get Carter, Juice is taking us to 350. This kid Brooks can bat too and let's not for get the Croc.

Think there a bowler, batter and keeper down now. That's two players mind. This is our game.

350 up, Juice 164. Chanceless, apart from being dropped by some cack-handed Aussie on 131. 20 years old this boy.

Superb. Lost it a bit at the end, could have worked his way to a double but superb. If that was Seafret or Riz the praise on here would be through the roof. Wouldn't even be playing if one or two others were fit, criminally. He will be now. Who are our overseas for the rest of the Champ cos our top six is sorted?
Haines Orr Alsop Pujara Clark Carter
Chuck in the numerous all-rounders vying for 7 & 8 and we really got a team. So long as the muppets pulling the strings wake up and sign an OS quick now.

He's just got something about him Liquid, always has, just looks the part. There will be ups and downs, but I expect him to be a big part of the County side for years to come. Providing of course, he is given the opportunity. His wicket keeping has dropped a bit this season, but not surprising given the gloves have gone to our overseas. A pity he missed out on the double hundred. The real irony of course is if the management had got Orr through his Covid test, Oli would probably have missed out on selection for this match. With Carter, Orr and Alsop who can all keep wicket in all formats, if we opt for another overseas wicket keeper batsman next season, it speaks volumes as to the competency of those in charge. Good recovery and good competitive total, more than I was expecting from the overnight position. We are in this match. We are really in this match as I type and Hunt gets Lloyd.

What a fantastic morning for Sussex and then ending with a Glamorgan wicket. Who would have thought it at 208-7. Delighted for Oli Carter with latter support from Crocombe and Brooks.
